in china and japan, certain (oral and other means) probiotics alone are being used in a clinical setting to treat bladder and other cancers similar to the bcg vaccine, eg. clostridium butyricum and lactobacillus casei and other strains. more strains being studied/tested. probiotics are far more effective, natural, less expensive and with more fewer serious side effects (and probiotics have major extra benefits). in some cases, probiotics are used in conjunction with nutrients such as vit d and astaxanthin etc. to treat/prevent cell changes etc. probiotics alone are already proven to prevent, and even reverse, colorectal tumors (and i believe pancreatic and stomach and lung cancers, prostate tumors too). interestingly, when combined with harsh cancer drugs, the results have been spotty/inconsistent.
