Manufactured in Germany, but the technological patents are Spanish, specifically the "praised" design is actually something that Talgo already did in the 60's in the USA, revolutionizing both the interior and exterior design of the trains, something that should be said more often
Hey! Really nice review! Next time if you travel again in a S-103 you should try to book a seat on the "Coche 1" which at first it was the "Club" class (kind of Business Class from planes). Now they're sold as Preferente but you get extra space! It has bigger seats than original Preferente class (coach 2 and 3) and as you said if you go on weekdays you will enjoy a wonderful meal travelling at 300km/h. However now with the Covid19 pandemic it's not available. I hope that in a near future it will be available again. So, some comments. The lounge thingy executive stuff at the end, I think I read somewhere that in new Velaros it is not being built, so perhaps it went out of use. About the opening to competitors: Italian trains are coming to Spain! If I'm not mistaken, from march 2022 some Frecciarossa will start doing high speed services in Spain. Also, a high-speed line is being built linking Madrid, Badajoz and Lisbon. Bad thing is, RENFE is progressively abandoning its conventional rail network because of their obsession with high speed
You guys pray that Trenitalia lowers its fares though, even if Frecciarossa is an amazing train. Here in Italy it's quite the opposite, the opening of a wide HS network meant a surge in passenger traffic and a resurrection for railways here, so they started buying new trains and getting more punctual. They finally understood that if you offer a decent alternative to queuing in traffic, people will line up on the platforms
It's kind of quaint that Renfe still refers to 2nd class as "tourist." I don't think I've heard anything called "tourist class" since the airlines changed it to "economy class" in the 1980s.
"Clase turista" in Spanish is the same as economy class for both planes and trains, and it's still in use today. Not everything revolves around you and your language.
Eric J the reason he was being so “rude” was because of your stupidity can’t you read the creator of the video literally writes turista not tourist and even if it were written tourist it’s another language meaning it can have a complete different meaning

Yes, that's correct. About the procedure, I'm not totally sure, but it depends on the type of train. IIRC I've seen videos where this is an automated process, whilst in some trains it is a manual one. You can spot some kind of a lever under the seats that is used to unlock and reverse them.
In Russia, There Is A Service Called The "Сапсан" ("Sapsan") Which Uses Trainsets Similar To The One Seen In This Video. Those However, Have 10 Cars Instead Of 8.

It’s strange how many people actually use first class in europe, in the UK not many people travel 1st especially on the local routes, the high speed line that goes from my local station doesn’t even have a 1st class
I believe that business people prefer to fly in the UK rather than going by train. The opposite of what seems to happen in Europe, where HS lines are used by many.

@Bob el Silencioso ah so they have more staff onboard on weekdays than on weekends? I don’t understand who would book Preferente on weekends then, especially when knowing that the service is better on weekdays.
Your presentation is good... But you should go verbal, means give commentary on this trip.. I love your report, but continously i have to pause to read what you wrote...But again , you are doing great work in this bad time
To be honest, I have no trouble with reading the comments, although there is sometimes too much text at once.
"Alta velocidad española" means Spanish High speed.
Ave also means bird in Spanish. It's a play of words.
@@flopunkt3665 Russia & Japan also have their HSR trains named after birds too ( _Sapsan_ & _Hayabusa_ respectively)
@@alfrredd Stupid and rude is no way to go through life, son.
@@ericjamieson I expected no less from someone like you.
Eric J the reason he was being so “rude” was because of your stupidity can’t you read the creator of the video literally writes turista not tourist and even if it were written tourist it’s another language meaning it can have a complete different meaning
I prefer the ICE version over this. Its only small differences like lighter/darker wood and lighter/darker floor but it makes so much difference!
I took OIUGO non stop service Barcelona to Madrid just 2h28m, awesome and very cheap service compared with Ave. Nice video anyways
Boa viagem simply lindo tren bala rápido show
what's the difference between Renfe Ave and Renfe Avant?
Ave=300+ KM/hr Avant=250km/hr (max) and shorter distance
On the regular services to the likes of Jaén, the seats recline, but in their own space so no problems with the person in front of you sitting in your lap, is it the same on the AVE?
Yes.

Hey, is it ok for you if I do trip reports like these too? For my channel. I am based in Luxemburg. ❤
yea it ok but don't ENTIRELY (literally entirely) or else copyright strike to channel or vid

(We) who you have traveling with you?
madrid - barcelona by plane 30 euro, 1h 30min (local flight so fast, no silly customs or advanced checks)
madrid-barcelona by train 130 euro, 3h
Who in their right mind would pick the train?!
To be competitive train ticket 1st class/premium/business/whatever should cost as much as economy plane.
The last station before the French border is called Figueres-Vilafant, not Figueras-Villafants.
I thought that was an ICE in the thumbnail 😂
They also have 3rd sibling! Its in china called CRH!
And a 4th in Russia, called Sapsan... 😉
Does someone know a site or FB-page/group for information concerning cheap SNCF-tickets ? DB ? And others on the continent ?
SNCF have a low-cost operator named Ouigo, tickets are generally quite cheaper there - but booking in advance is important.
€130!!!!! 😲😲😲
I haven't paid this fare but I checked back in the days it was this price
@@SimplyRailway & Nonstop Eurotrip The cheapest variant of frecciarossa 1000 on the route roma milano 632km in business class (no meal provided) for travel these days / August 2020 is sold for € 103 and it is highlighted as the best offer!
I am the first person to say "Hola" and also to say that this video will be great
Thanks for the super non informative comment written before watching the video just so you could say you were first. So very childish.
Good video very much in the style of "The man in seat 61" which is a hearty recommendation!
Seats all turned in direction of travel, correct? How they do that?
Yes, that's correct. About the procedure, I'm not totally sure, but it depends on the type of train. IIRC I've seen videos where this is an automated process, whilst in some trains it is a manual one. You can spot some kind of a lever under the seats that is used to unlock and reverse them.
The resemblance to the American West has been noted by others. Many 'spaghetti Westerns', like 'The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly' were filmed there.
In Russia, There Is A Service Called The "Сапсан" ("Sapsan") Which Uses Trainsets Similar To The One Seen In This Video. Those However, Have 10 Cars Instead Of 8.
Yeah, they're are all variants of the Siemens Velaro D (the original German ICE 3).
In case of the Sapsan, it's specifics designed for the severe weather conditions in Russia.
I would love to see more videos of trains in France!
I thought this train went slightly faster, 310 km per hour
haha looks so much like the DB ICE 3
El estrella costa brava reemplazado por este
It’s too late the OuiGo SNCF duplex low cost is already in Spain and makes the happiness of Spaniards at 9€ the trip . Text translated by google
i asked wrong last time so are you gonna make another tran trip in poland?
It’s strange how many people actually use first class in europe, in the UK not many people travel 1st especially on the local routes, the high speed line that goes from my local station doesn’t even have a 1st class
I believe that business people prefer to fly in the UK rather than going by train. The opposite of what seems to happen in Europe, where HS lines are used by many.
Are there same troubles wth toilets as they are at ICE 3 in Germany? - Heinz
I've ridden these and they are fine. What's the issue with the ICE 3's toilets in Germany?
@@CityWhisperer - I made experience in every ICE 3 at least one toilet doesn't work. You know this means if hot weather.
In german ICE 3 it is the lounge. check the german wiki site for that: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lounge_(ICE)

wow, that’s kind of dumb to not offer full service on weekends? Does anyone know the reason for that?
@Bob el Silencioso paying weekend extras? What’s that?
@Bob el Silencioso ah so they have more staff onboard on weekdays than on weekends?
I don’t understand who would book Preferente on weekends then, especially when knowing that the service is better on weekdays.
Your presentation is good... But you should go verbal, means give commentary on this trip.. I love your report, but continously i have to pause to read what you wrote...But again , you are doing great work in this bad time
To be honest, I have no trouble with reading the comments, although there is sometimes too much text at once. I also think that live commentary breaks the authentic experience of actually being there, but that's how I feel about it. Maybe do some videos with commentary and some without?
I will agree that the presentation is extensive, very similar to Simply Aviation. I hope Simply Railway will get just as succesful one day!
