    Commented before hearing the end. As someone who recently dropped poker as the main professional activity, I can subscribe to everything you are saying. They say I have an 'accelerated growth' in my new field, but to me it's just all the years of poker that make me look at my new activity and say "this is like the easiest game ever, compared to what I've been doing before" That has made me not quit poker entirely, because of the value it provides + it's the best way to unwind after a full day immersed in conversations with people, training courses and all that.
    Bless you and your knowledge, keep rocking that beautiful self! Cheers!

    How often are you deviating from GTO against your opponents? Are you adjusting somewhat in each hand dependent on what you know or can assume about your opponent?

    • @fedorholz911
      @fedorholz911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Quite a lot. There is always something to assume :) If I don't know my opponent I already assume that he isn't a top pro and will do mistakes and I adjust vs. that.

    Im not good at poker, but i am good at chess, one reason i havent ever used a poker solver is because in chess engines are a REALLY bad idea for begginers, yes they come up with the best move but its the best move if you can think several hundred million moves a second, if your a begginer at chess you will struggle to think 3 moves ahead correctly in 20 mins, i assumed poker was the same.

    • @lyingcat9022
      @lyingcat9022 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m also OK at Chess (flirting with 1500 OL) and not so great at poker. Engines are great at finding missed tactics and blunders for beginners that are not skilled at analyzing their own games.

    Are solvers necessary to move up from the micros to NL100?

    • @flowthrupranayama
      @flowthrupranayama 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe so, unless you are very good at math AND can understand concepts such as herein (at9 bb LJ v bb): where the defending range is over 30% less than 1-alpha ((75%-51%)/75%) on this type of excellent texture for the tight range, while you are OOP defending cb.

    • @flowthrupranayama
      @flowthrupranayama 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daniellojuas2518 that doesn't work at NL100, and below that the rake is high enough that you had better do more than overfold. What about CB strat? Lemme guess, you bet full range on most boards for 1/3 or 1/2 pot?

      just keep playing the game and building experience, that is the way stuff gets burned in your memory, tacit knowledge. Solvers are good to practice, but forget about trying to memorize stuff from it, there are millions of different combinations in poker.

    "Formulating my thoughts" I call this "guestimating". Like you said you get better feedback because there's an emotional response to the answer. (Always guys what type of hands your opponent will flip over before calling)

    Fedor, if I understand correctly you expect the poker theory to continue evolving as the chess theory has evolved with the appearance of AI? Will poker theory (GTO) feature major changes or only small changes in your opinion?
    And I have another question concerning the softer odin that you are using. If I understand correctly the strengths of this software is that is easy to use and gives solutions in little time. Is that correct? Honestly I never heard about this GTO software before, I would love to hear from you what are the negative sides of this software. Thank you

    • @fedorholz911
      @fedorholz911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      GTO will not evolve. Our understand of GTO will improve. Imagine GTO being the "final" stage. If we reached it, there is no improvement anymore. We are still quite far away from that. Solvers are just solving "toy games", so simplified ways to approach it better.

    i'm not complaining, but you should know that if you bought a nice camera and mic, and paid for some good production, you would have way more interest in your videos. Even one of the greatest tournament players ever can be hamstrung by poor quality. Big fan, tho!

    The reason I refuse to believe that solvers work is (Really the fact Im too lazy to understand them) But Qualia as stated by the youtuber exurb1a in his video titled "there's no such thing as orange" - Add that with the element of bluffing in poker coupled with the concept of fate or are we the ones in control = humans are spontaneous and understanding poker I feel is like a mixture of becoming a lockpicking safecracker with an extremely gentle ear & touch mixed with being an artist thats why Im skeptical on how effective solvers may be, not to mention that humans are probably telepathic and thats why we make some great hero calls vrs some great lay downs who the fuck knows it'll all be revealed thousands of years from now.

    Poker will NEVER get at the same point Chess is. Chess has no bluff, chess is and objective game, and it can be beaten. Poker can never be beaten because its subjective, too many bluffs win pots, playing wrong wins TOO MANY POTS, including against the best in the world.
