For quiet running I glued cork tiles to the baseboards. Buy them from Bunnings in a pack of 6, 305mm x 305mm, 6mm thick. They have a motley brown colour and look quite good for base ground cover.

Hi I am using 5mm cork roadbed from Midwest Products. By incasing it in a corking compound that is quite rubbery I am hoping that will do the trick.
