I'm finding this kit fascinating. Looks a good quality and definitely goes together differently to most kits I've seen. Looks like your on top of the build and doing a great job Joe.
Greg, I am certainly enjoying this kit. It is absolutely different from the brands we are use to, and definitely a lot of fun! The kit has 3,124 wooden parts and I love it. Between Vance's build and mine I can see them guiding anyone through the build. But I would no recommend this for a beginner.
Hi Joe, coming along nicely! Small suggestion if you don't mind: don't place the deck as long as there is this hight difference. Same for the keel at the bottom. But, it is an impressive ship!! Difficult build it seems.
Thank you, Curtis! Great advice. This is certainly a learn as you go kit as it is very different than the most. But either way I am having fun with it! Again, thank you for the advice!
Looking good Joe. Really glad see you had the stern deck planking in the correct order for the rail post spacing. I went back and looked at my skeleton assembly photos. I verified that I did dry assemble and fit everything twice. Not sure what's going on here. It all works out at the end. If you can hold off on installing the bow deck beam supports until the hull planking is compete. That whole area needs to be custom fitted. Plus, leave extra material on the beams for that nice custom fit. P.S. for my beams I ordered 6X6 mm walnut strips from Model Expo.
@@genojoe3176 Perfect. Can’t wait to see how your staining process comes out. Do me a favor and check box 17 of the rigging block's and see how many you have. We need 4 and I have only 2. Let me know. Thanks.
I had the 6 pieces of square timber missing also, but the other 3 parts were in my kit (though, from memory, they may have been numbered differently and took some time to find). On each of the ribs is a cutout to position the first plank. As you think you have misaligned two of the back ribs, You might want to see how that first plank now fits before getting much further along.
Check out my latest video on assembly corrections and manufacturing parts.
Hey, Joe! This kit is already looking great, already. The deck boards look fantastic 👌
Thank you! I used teak stain and also black for the weathering. This was a first for me to try weathering and I think I'm sold!
Looks great Joe, nicely explained, its good you are pointing out causes of issue, and how to rectify, great job.
Thank you, sir! I am certainly enjoying this build and getting a little less camera shy as we go.
Its looking great Joe! just go for it and have fun!:)
@@AlexModeling Thank you, Alex! I miss your videos. Coming back soon?

Thank you sir, I will put the supports on the side until after the planking. Great advise!

@@vanmacvideos3774 I only have two as well. Looks like we both got shorted.
@@genojoe3176 Hmm… Ok. I have some ideas. Keep you posted.
@@vanmacvideos3774 Check your email I sent you a picture if left over parts.

Edit: I just checked and the three parts (210-12) weren't there but they aren't used/needed.
