I also like that they really made the fight revolve around the bipedal thing. They could've easily made him just do it for like a few attacks, but he is in the upright position for the majority of the fight
I switched from hammer to switch axe because i saw another hunter online surfing on a monster. I am SO in love with the switch axe....I just started using the counter and oh my god.....i am doing disgusting damage. im so happy with sunbreak
I switched from playing SnS and CB to total commitment in using SA. This is my goto weapon for fun, fluid hunts, and I had not an issue with it till MR30 now.
Holy shit thats a lot of damage.. I am still using my old exhaust SA for Sunbreak early game.. gonna aim for this build next :) Thanks for the inspiration.
Actually the Garangolm Exhaust Swaxe is really really good for progression. Elemental Switch Axes like this one here are always matchup specific. With the counter Power Phials would be better in the first place.
And the Volcanic Switch Axe only got crazier as the power creep continued. First, you could add more element to the weapon via Qurious Crafting, eventually causing it to top out at 131 Fire with all slots unlocked and Element LV8 on it. Then you add skills like Fire Attack 5 (+20% + 4 more element), Dragon Conversion 3 (converts elemental resistances to elemental attack), and Teostra Blessing 2 (+10% more Fire). In the set I was using, I got the axe up to 205 Fire - and it probably could have gone higher if I had better rolls on elemental resistance. Then in combat, you get bonuses from Burst and Element Exploit, plus the bonus from having purple sharpness thanks to Handicraft! And that's ALL before you get +45% more element from being in the weapon's Sword mode. That could easily push the effective element beyond 300.
Dude, the shift in viability for elemental weapons has me SO excited for this game! I've always been a huge fan of weapon variety, and while I don't mind some weapons having one or two top options (I'm a Hammer main), I always enjoy being able to craft different weapons for different fights. (There's a reason I love Elemental LBGs so much lol) I assume for builds like this, centered around elemental weaknesses, Element Phials will likely be the go-to over Power Phials finally?
element phials were great in base Rise but the inclusion of the counter has put us back into a Power Phial "meta" bc countering gets you amped immediately. but element phials charge really quickly so they're super comfy & can still deal plenty damage if you're not looking to strictly speed run
Possibly, but now you have to take into acoount the drawback of power phial being the slow amp time being thrown out the window with the counter, it is up in the air depending on the monster.
I don’t know why but the way it just sits there is unnerving. It’s not sleepy, it’s just... thinking. Hate Lunagaron because it gave me five Frost Jewels before one Lash Shell
