    Electrical connection of an air conditioner
    Usually a 3x2.5 mm² R2V/1000V cable is used for this. The power supply must be connected to a dedicated circuit, protected on the electrical panel by a 16 A circuit breaker and a 30 mA differential.An oven requires 20 amp draw on a dedicated circuit that is dedicated to the oven. You must also use a cable with a section of 2.5mm². Unlike hobs which require an amperage of 32 amps on a circuit with a connection cable having a section of 6mm². About change over Depending on the power of your generating set, use wires of adequate section (2.5, 4, 6, 10 mm²). The plug is connected to the "secondary power supply" input of the inverter.

    Hi there. I’m really enjoying this particular video. The use of the local language and the explanation done in English using the subtitles is a very great idea.. this video has been very educative and I’ve learnt a lot.. thanks

    Good information. I have a suggestion please.
    Providing an RCB at the meter board will give you a total shutdown when there's a fault. when in actual fact, the fault is only from one circuit. The best practice is this..
    1. Lighting circuit will have separate ELCB
    2. Power sockets will have separate ELCB
    3. Aircondition will have separate RCCB & ELCB since they draw high current during their initial start.
    Note: each of the circuit mentioned above could have two to three ELCB's depending on their points.
    Thank you very much.

      You are right Ing. Bright, well said. To add to what you have said, they should select an RCD (RCCB) of 100mA or 0.1A which is less sensitive at the incomer and use the 30mA RCCB or RCBO in the distribution to reduce nuisance tripping. This is what we call Protection Coordination to ensure the earth fault is isolated or cleared without affecting other essential circuits of the household. Please also try to get your sockets circuit on RCBOs. Sockets are the number one culprits for earth leakage and earth faults due to faulty appliances plugged in and sometimes persons getting shocks from these appliances. If you can't get RCBOs then you can group your circuits on RCCBs like Ing Bright said. Learnt a lot from your electrician and/or inspector in your video. Thumbs up to Him

      Thanks for the feedback @Bright&Clara. I think your suggestion is a great one.. we really appreciate it for real. Now that we know, we will look into that.

      @@makafuiameedzameh2445 great answer. The talk alot with many errors

      @@makafuiameedzameh2445 so on point. In the UK for example 16 way single phase DB or consumer unit comes with two separate RCD/RCCB but in Ghana most of the distribution boards or consumer units in these local electrical stores are the type used in this video; for a example a 12 way three phase DB is not partitioned therfore the only option is to replace the pre installed MCB 4/3 pole main Switch with RCD or RCCB. I think Energy Commission should work more on codes and regulations than channelling much attention to certifying incompetent electricians.

    ask them what's the cable for the meter board is it 10mm square or more

    • @makafuiameedzameh2445
      @makafuiameedzameh2445 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If i heard right the electrician said it should be more. 16mmsq or 25mmsq. And he also said 10mmsq is not acceptable and that i agree with him looking at how we expand on our appliances these days with the like of the ACs, Boilers or heater, Washing machines. You definitely need a thicker cable than 10mmsq
