Hi, great video. I was wondering if there’s a way to do a slow pitch drop on release? Think Bladerunner opening theme. Thanks.

We've actually created a video that explains how to create a similar patch - th-cam.com/video/6yO4p2uOBS0/w-d-xo.html
For the original patch, the pitch modulation may have been performed using the ribbon controller on the CS-80 but you could use the Pitch wheel on Summit to achieve a similar effect.

This is great. It is clear the guy absolutely knows what he is talking about and what he's doing. However, he changes some settings so fast (as it's obviously obvious to him) that I have to rewatch pieces 5 or 6 times and pause to think and try to comprehend what's actually happening. Guess I'm a slow learner 😅😊🎉😉

its a pity, that you cannot set modulation sources and destinations through turning knobs, like in my 10 year old Nordlead A1

Assignments can be quickly created using the Modulation Matrix, apologies if that's not the workflow you had hoped for.

Why even mention poly at if it's not on the keybed?

Because people own MPE controllers like Linnstrument or SLmk3.

I'm a huge fan of Novation, having multiple products including Peak, Impulse and Launchpad Pro, but not having polyphonic aftertouch on their flagship Summit is IMHO a missed opportunity.
But love Novation none the less, as their product are high quality and their updates real impovements. Sometimes even gamechangers! Still waiting on a next update for my Circuit where it is possible to chain sessions. ^_^

DIV1NITAL - Polyphonic Aftertouch and MPE are two very different control protocols. MPE uses a different MIDI channel for each note. Polyphonic aftertouch, like channel aftertouch, is controlled via the single channel that carries the note data.
Whether or not Summit's keybed handles either was a decision based on what price tag Summit would get. I preordered mine after playing with it at Sweetwater's GearFest in June of 2019 and I got mine for the original price of $1,999. By the time it launched, the price was $2,199. Polyphonic aftertouch would have increased the price over $2,500 and even more for MPE.
I adore the depth and versatility of the Summit. I was at Knobcon three months later and got to play with the Hydrasynth. It kinda stole the show. I fell in love with it, but not more than the Summit. I got the Hydrasynth at the end of 2020. I'm grateful to have both. They are very different engines. And because Novation had the foresight to enable the response to polyphonic aftertouch in the Peak/Summit engine, my Summit plays wonderfully in response to the Hydrasynth's keybed.

While I have a good understanding of oscillators, filters and envelopes, I remain utterly baffled by the mod matrix. Bar the odd happy accident, I've no idea what I'm doing and just suffer from option paralysis. This is why I'd rather concentrate on the music and have somebody else do the boffin stuff.
