The Galaxy S20 might be a better deal in the US where it has the last snapdragon 865 chipset. But in Europe the S20 is the Exynos 990 version and I think that the OnePlus 8 pro is a much better deal if we consider the comparison of the two chipsets.

Personally, I will never buy a Samsung device again. Their cables break too easily, the battery detoriorates like mad, the UK version I'm from has exynos version which is crap, the updates don't last too long, phone gets outdated too quick, too much bloat and overexposed camera, and the price is ridiculous.
I would still have my last Samsung, except the battery became very annoying.

@@TejaDurgi If you're getting the Snapdragon variant then calm. But other than that I would give it a pass. Samsung seems to have rushed this phone with so many gimmick features. The new one plus 8 pro looks good value for your money especially in the market of flagships. Sure it ain't cheap but better than what Samsung have at the moment.

Yep Samsung isn't even an option in Australia, s20 Exynos was unusable, I was disgusted to hear they were giving us Exynos s21s too. For the premium we pay down here on phones it's a slap in the face.

Personally, don't think the S20 is a better choice than the 8 Pro. The camera is better but not by a huge margin plus the always on display cab be easily fixed with a software update. I would say they are pretty identical I many aspects and which one you purchase ultimately comes down to your personal preference.
I love the oxygen OS plus the color choices are so much better on the 8Pro. The S20 series just kook boring IMO
8 Pro the best option out there in my opinion if you want the highest end device by spending more money.

Best display at the moment with the best specs.
OxygenOS that means super performance in combination with the SD865, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 with the new functional mode of it.
Thinner and lighter compared to others phones, with a beautiful placed camera frame on the back and not a big square.
A more than a good camera even if not the best. But in some cases still better as you mentioned.

The majority of the world gets exynos chipsets which makes Samsung's flagships garbage and inferior straight out the box...the one plus 8 pro is better than all the s20 series... better screen... faster wireless charging ... better os... and of course the SD 865 guaranteed...
Wireless charging is only faster on the oneplus 70 dollar proprietary charger. With out this charger, it is slower than apples wireless charging l.
@@71igfffv Exactly bro. I was about to say this. My country gets the exynos version sadly. It's way less powerful, worst in power efficiency, and because of the different ISP, the image processing is also different. It's not worth spending the massive price. Going for the OnePlus makes more sense to a lot of people in my country. Also the software support is better with OnePlus devices.

@@itpepaine5677 Yeah..the brand value of Samsung can't be matched by the OnePlus at least for now. But still they do worse than OnePlus in terms of major software updates. Even if the OnePlus is not perfect by all means, they're improving a lot.
My old S8's last android update was the pie. Samsung stopped it's software support last year. The pixels, oneplus and some brands like nokia that are in the android one program gets more updates than the Samsung. They should work on it a bit.. And also if Samsung sold only the snapdragon variant across the globe, then it'd have been awesome. If they did that ,they'd get more customers for sure...
But it's cheaper by £250 than the iPhone 11 pro in the UK and that's OnePlus at 12 GB ram and 256gb storage while the iPhone has 4 GB ram and 64gb storage

It's all about preference,my friend got rid of his One Plus for a s20 Ultra I have an Ultra and I have no problems with it,Nothing about the One Plus really blew us away,the phone does have a beautiful display but so does the Iphone,Ultra aswell.I don't see what the big deal is.

Yeah obviously haha, Samsung needs to worry about OnePlus and other brands that use Android. They shouldn’t worry about Apple because there’ll always be a demographic of people that prefer IOS and will never use Android; while if you prefer Android you can use a wide array of phones and will need to try and stand out even more.

Basically you should buy only two brands. OnePlus if you like Android. iPhone if you are into Apple ecosystem. If Google is smart, they should buy OnePlus and step up their battle against Apple. I mean Google should be ashamed that a Chinese company doing a better job with Google's own software.

My last Samsung was 8+.I used to be Samsung fan, but when I see the small batteries, slow charging and power poor power consumption they had. Actually all the way to the Ultra. I say Huawei and now Oneplus is better. I'm not an Apple fan but have to say what they get out of their relative small batteries is fantastic. I feel Samsung has become arrogant, but as long as people buy their phones they can 🙄

This is the first reviewer who says that S20 has “much better” camera than OnePlus 8 pro... out of probably 10 other videos, including Unbox therapy, MKBHD and other big boys. OP8Pro is compared to S20 Ultra, not even S20 you say is much better. Disliked this video.
I own a S20 ultra exynos version and its not as bad as people. Battery life is good. Does not heat as many people say. Performance is good. I don't know what people are saying.. maybe they don't own a S20 ultra. Beats me
When comparing the price I think it is substantial to actually mention that in markets, other than US, oneplus is significantly cheaper. Iphone 11 pro cost around USD 1,385 while oneplus 8 pro USD 937 in the Philippines. In my country the price disparity is quite significant making oneplus 8 pro more attractive, price and quality wise.

No mmwave 5G. Also, you state no fast charge if not using OnePlus wired charger. The phone does support 15W USB C power delivery, which is as fast really as most standard phones fast charging.
The SnapDragon 865 comes with low and mid ban 5G not mmWave (HighBan) there is a special version of the 8 (not pro) that is going to be only Avaible though Verizon that will have mmWave. :)
I love OnePlus devices but i was so disappointed when i saw the prices.
i dunno why they increased the prices so much globally, in indian market its quite affordable

Just a hint. Best way to take macro shot on P40 PRO is to hit that 5X zoom button and go as close as camera let's you focus to your subject.
Exynos s20 or op8pro ?
I am torn! Both out of stock direct from manufacturer, so I have more time to decide. I've used Samsung for years, but really really drawn to the 8 Pro...
I don't see how the s20 is a better buy, specially the exynos version. Also, Oneplus is way better when it comes to software updates. The oneplus camera will probably improve over time, since it's almost a oneplus trademark.
Any other competitor should be worried. That's just competition and it's good for consumers. The only thing wrong with the OP8 is the aggressive curve display

The S20 is now £720. It comes with wireless charging, water proofing and a better camera. Not sure of that battery life though.

I'm also a tech enthusiast but no matter how much money you get sponsored, will be appreciated that you are showcasing the reality. Other than that, from a viewer perspective, I like the way you think and film your videos. Thumbs up for that.
The s20 is really not a better deal over the 8 pro, maybe over the 8 when the price drops. But Samsung really failed this Year in terms of Design and Camera, the s20 ultra in particular

Hello from India. I liked your content and it's amazing to see how much effort you put in to achieve this kind of perfection. The amount of details is actually more than the likes of MKBHD. 👍 I want an advice from you. I am upgrading from Samsung Note 9 (Exynos) . My options are S10+, S20+ (both Exynos) iPhone 11 Pro Max and the Oneplus 8 Pro. My priorities are excellent call quality via earpiece and speaker phone, excellent audio quality, excellent battery life and smooth overall performance with the least amount of frame drops. For me the basics of communication like Signal and WIFI reception and calling experience matter a lot. Which one should I go for?
If money is not a problem for u u may go with the iPhone because it has the best call reception and audio.and next is the 8 pro which u nearly equal to the iPhone in terms of audio and call quality

Its a step forward with the punchole. Because the camera wouldstop working oneday. Wether thats due to drop damage or age/uses.
It will inevitably wear out. And paying someone to repair that is not feasable here in the uk as there are no oneplus servixe centres/shops.

The color filter cam has been banned in china, it can see through plastic (and clothes made out of plastic fiber)
Frames per second doesn't make a phone fast it just refreshes the screen faster. How can you say it is the 'fastest' phone you have used when you are not even comparing actual chip performance?
In terms of raw performance, the A13 is still the fastest. But this phone feels much much faster than my 11 Pro Max, due to the refresh rate and fast animations.
