I honestly feel like it's better if a world without Carlos is also a world without Cecil. I'm relistening to season 3 right now, and a Cecil without Carlos is just not a thing that should be. How can a Night Vale be without a Cecil? Hunkotar pretty much said that there's always a Cecil in Night Vale. In conclusion, I want my Cecil back. I want my Carlos back. And I want my Night Vale back.
Cecil forgot literally everything about Night Vale including Carlos. Leonard called himself a regular host. Where. The. Duck. Is. Cecil. The intro music was broken. Also, he acknowledged angels so we've not gone back in time...
I started listening to Welcome to Night Vale randomly picking an episode, and it was this one. For some reason, for a long time, i didn't want to listen to any other episode and just kept listening to this one on repeat. It just caught me with it's narration and the weather song. For a long time i couldn't get used to Cecil, ironically. Months later, started to listen to the podcast from episode one and took off. Now i've reached this episode and listening to it again is just the most weird, awesome and touching experience
I love the ‘voice like distant highway traffic’ and how, when he says it the second time, it’s such a distinct and fitting description that we know exactly who it is.
I am seeing a lot of complaints about not hearing Cecil - while I don't disagree I think it deserves to mentioned that this episode was stunningly beautiful and a true work of art. it wasn't even in spite of the wonky music and lack of regular host, but rather in part because of it.
This remind of a early episode ..where Cecil ..says that he is not even in a radio station ..that he just speaking but nothing happening ..and then he just blows the idea off and ends it
I thought for a second today's weather was just going to be weather sounds as to add to the sadness of old routines changing but this was equally as sad.
This is just a example of another Nightvale in another timeline with another broadcaster, it's still Night Vale .It's a Night Vale, but not our Night Vale.Sure, this is a good Night Vale, but I miss our Night Vale and our host.

So this is the past? Also, Pamela is solely to blame. When she retired, she took up many hobbies, including coin collecting. This hobby made stocks crash, and caused nations to break a 10 years peace treaty and reignited the Blood Space War. If she hadn't taken up coin collecting, our town would still be there!
I think Cecil started the Blood Space War because Carlos was kidnapped or something along that line. Also, this was my favorite Weather in a long while.

Same here, the change of the narrator and the music fit the current arc perfectly.
Also the fact that the weather was an instrumental was haunting. The only human voice was Leanard`s.
