I only have two words: fucking beautiful
A wonderful tribute to a racing legend. 667 Newton Abbot and Smeathorpe 1974-77. The memories last forever. Thanks for some amazing racing Bill. RIP. :)
Oh my God, Bill has passed.
I hadn't been following. My father and I watched him racing and words can scarcely describe the skill.
An absolute legend. Talent like I have never seen in *any* other driver. Stunning.
Bill Batten at Smeatharpe - just brilliant…….. such fantastic memories of air horns blasting out after each win… my brother was in the Smeatharpe Smashers banger team ……. Also great memories…
Only just come across this - lovely tribute. Bill was an extremely special driver and to see that 1300 car going around was magnificent. I watched him through the 1970s and 80s and even raced against him for a little while and he was truly in a class of his own. Thanks for sharing this.
Awesome tribute well done to all involved ❤️👍🏻
Amazing tribute to a great driver.
Not an F2 fan as such, but do remember how quick 167 was !.
RIP.
Brilliant tribute. A stock car fan who knows his history.
Great tribute to a short oval legend
God bless rip.

I'm sure I remember seeing Billy Batten at St Austell when we were on holiday there in 1975.
You definitely would have done - I was on holiday there as well that year and he was racing on a Tuesday night at St Austell. His home track.
@@simonradnedge2693 he was from st blazey wasnt he? funny what you remember from years ago.
Well, from Pensilva which was as good as St Blazey, just a bit more obscure. I hope you have fond memories of BB whizzing round there from your youth!
@@simonradnedge2693 ineed. we were camping at mevagissey and being speedway fans we had a bit off an affinity with stockcar racing, especially at the former home of the gulls and it all being run by speedway man trevor redmond.
I would love to know what motor that thing runs as it sounds brilliant
I'll try and find out but it's definitely a 1300
@@WallopStraightIn would make sence its defo far from standard, if its an anderson built motor i can find out pretty easily as i know them through karting
great tribute tho, not an oval person myself but i can see how much of a legend this man was with very little research
The engine in that car would be a full race 1300cc Ford crossflow...
