    I was trying so hard to find "lists", so thank you!

      You're welcome! I was so bummed when Squarespace renamed them; they were much easier to find & explain before 😅

    Thank you for this! I'd like to use a list section for a "meet the team" page of a company website. For the content list, is there a max number of people (items) that can be added?

      Great question! I don't know of a list item limit, so I tested it in my demo site and was able to add over 100. Hope that info helps with your project! :)

    Thank you for this tutorial! I was trying to add a community directory to our Squarespace site and stumbled on this gem. This will look way better than a HTML table 😅

    This is super helpful! Is there a way you know of to add tags to people? I'm trying to adapt this with a Universal Sort tool as I have cards for 100+ retailers across all 50 States. I don't want to create blog posts for each one as the button clicks through to their individual sites.
    Any ideas? 😅

    • @InsideTheSquare
      @InsideTheSquare  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would be rad but unfortunately, the only things in Squarespace that can have tags are blog posts and products. It might be a bit tedious, but for this specific need a blog might be the way to go. You can also look into a different software designed for this taht can be embedded into Squarespace! Someone in the forum might have a suggestion. Sorry I can't be of more help, but best of luck with your project!

    thank you for the video :) My question : is custom CSS the only way to widen the body on the simple list in mobile view ?

    • @InsideTheSquare
      @InsideTheSquare  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! I have no idea why Squarespace will only let us make mobile specific changes to fluid engine sections, but that's the way their program works. 🫠 The did give us the ability to edit a storefront mobile view - we can choose to have two columns of products instead of one!! - so hopefully that means they will let us do even more to edit mobile in the future... fingers crossed! 🤞

    Thank you so much for your tutorials, they've been a great help. Is there a way to add a filter to a directory page like you've set up if there were a lot of people ?

      Oooh I love this idea! I’ll definitely add this to my tutorial to-do list; stay tuned 😉

    Hello and thank you for this tutorial! Can you customize the spacing in a list section? None of the options given work since all my quotes are different lengths and there is too much white space in between. I want my content to fall right under each other. Thank you!

      Great question! I would recommend exploring the design menu for your list section. You have some options for alignment that can help 👍 👍

    I have a list of 5 items, and would like the second row of 2 items to be centered. Do you know if this is possible?

    • @InsideTheSquare
      @InsideTheSquare  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oooh - thats a great question! The main container is on a grid format, so it will be tricky o center. I'll brainstorm on this a bit, and keep this suggestion on my tutorial to do list; stay tuned

    Is it capable of searching a collection/list section? Like having a search bar above it?

    • @InsideTheSquare

      That would be so cool!! Not a feature yet but I will definitely start thinking about a plug-in solution.

    I like Squarespace, but my god with certain things they make it SO, SOOO much more confusing and difficult than it needs to be! Why keep it somewhere that isn't easily found, and why wouldn't they just call it LIST section!!?? (Or even imbedded button/image section, or something that makes sense and is obvious.) List is what it's called in site styles, and you can use those things for SO much more than just "people" I would never have thought to look under "people"!
    I even searched for "list" (again- THEIR word in site styles!) where you can choose sections, and it came up with nothing... NOTHING!! At least make it searchable! Jesus.
    (Can you tell that this is the last thing on a long list of "why on earth do they do it this way!" rants that have been building up and driving me crazy over the past couple of years?) :):)

    • @rationalskeptic1
      @rationalskeptic1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes, and there's one more thing! When you try to add wording to the list section, it is *extremely* annoying. Why can't I just click on where I want to type? I have to open the whole section, open the content tab, click on the item, and THEN start typing? Jeyzus.. that's a lot of steps just to be able to start typing! Oh! and then if I'm thinking and writing on the fly, there's that annoying hovering option bar (italics/bold etc) that covers the prior sentences that I've just written! Like, just...WHY? I can't get into a flow of what I'm writing because I can't see what I just wrote unless I move my cursor!
      Total vent here. I apologize! :)

    • @InsideTheSquare
      @InsideTheSquare  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rationalskeptic1 No need to apologize - all of those are valid venting points - and I feel the same way!! Did you know they were called list sections when they released them? And then changed them a few months later? I have a few videos that still need updating 😅 LOL I'm glad we have the option, but let's both keep our fingers crossed that the ever-evolving interface just keeps getting better. #teamlessclicksplease 😉

    • @rationalskeptic1
      @rationalskeptic1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@InsideTheSquare Oh sweet validation! Thanks for the reply! OF COURSE they changed them lol!! And yes I will cross my fingers for better, more rational changes that make sense! I actually have been extremely impressed with some of the recent updates, namely the drag and drop grid (THANK YOU Squarespace this was a game changer!) and the section dividers I really like too. At the same time, I'm sure it's a major headache for content creators like you who have to deal with all of the constant updates to keep things current! I don't know how I'd deal with that!
      By the way, your content is awesome, extremely helpful and to the point. I'm going to be working my way through your videos moving forward, and you will be the first place I come when I have a question! 😊You tha best!
