Fix This Device Cannot Start. (code 10) Error With WiFi & Other Drivers

  • Learn to fix This device cannot start Code 10 error with wireless adapter or any other driver on Windows 10 or 11 computers. There may be different reasons why the device cannot start and show error code 10. It may happen with WiFi drivers, Bluetooth drivers, keyboard or mouse drivers, or any other device connected to the computer.
    Here are some methods to fix Code 10 error on Windows 11 & 10
    1. Restart the PC
    2. Disable and Enable the device
    3. Uninstall the driver
    4. Update driver
    5. Rollback driver
    6. Run Windows troubleshooter
    7. Run Hardware troubleshooter
    8. Delete UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry keys
    9. Install latest driver
    10. Power Flush
    11. System Restore
    Above methods should help you to fix the problem.

      Homie The Disable and Enable method worked for me but the problem keeps on happening. Is there any Permanent method to fix the issue or do I have to get a new Wi-fi drive?

      Qualcomm atheros ar956 in window 10 every time you start the device is giving the same issue. WiFi sign disappeared, and WiFi adapter also disappeared 😞

    I had to go all the way up to the troubleshooting method and FINALLY I had wifi again and didnt need to just use the cable. thank you.. you've no idea how much I appreciate this. this computer goes everywhere with me and to think that I'd have to have a cable everywhere hooked to a router was impossible. You're wonderful.

      Same here. I would recommend that everyone try power flush first, as it was super easy and quick. Didn’t even have to remove my battery out of my laptop. It’s brand new so this was a super frustrating problem to have and I’m glad I didn’t have to go beyond this method.

      Same here, have heard of power cycling before but didn't think it could resolve what seemed like a driver issue. But with how no version was working no matter how new or old, it almost made me think the BIOS was the culprit before having done the same as a last ditch effort... Kudos to you for eventually figuring it out, really helped me out here since everything else in the video was in verbatim what I've already tried

    Thanks 👍 I learned a couple new troubleshooting steps, I tried all of them including testing a few recent driver releases. In the end it was the 30 second power button trick. My laptop booted and shutdown once and then stayed shut down until I released and pressed the power button again and as soon as I booted my WiFi adapter woke up like i hadn't been hitting it with a hammer for the last hour. I suppose that's a cmos thing

    My son had this issue, did reset, update drivers, delete drivers, pressed the power button for 60 sec... nothing worked. THIS WORKED!!! Specifically the Hardware Diagnostic fixed it. If you have the same issue go step by step with this video! Thanks Sandeep Singh!!!

    I had this error and tried everything to fix it. I did all the steps from the video and more but nothing helped. Then, after a few days when I was going to bring my laptop to the service centre suddenly the wi-fi driver started to work again. And I did absolutely nothing. I have no idea what caused this error and what happened to fix it, but for some reason I've decided to leave this here for you to read.

    already tried most solution over internet. Then checked your video. followed all solutions. How it worked for me. Did register additions. then did deep power restart. Sill Yellow exclamation mark. Then uninstalled drivers again and the scan hardware change. After this Wifi started proper working. Thanks for your steps.

    i cant find lower filters or upper filters.. what do i do after i create them? just delete them again ? pls reply i'm fed up of this problem!

    Thank you for this. Nothing worked but in the end the last step worked. I was almost ready to take it to a repair shop thinking it was a hardware failure. I specially searched your video again to thank you. :D

    After hours of trying multiple TH-cam channels and going through countless steps. I learnt I should read the comments first. What helped me was the 30 sec power flush thanks for your help 🙏
