Was a great dependable bike in the day....rode and raced mine in enduro's and scrambles.
The good was low end torque and low 1st gear if needed.

On all carbureted yzfs u have to adjust the accelerator pump to stop off idle bog/stall.

I just got a 2008 as well and electric start doesn’t work either did you ever figure out the problem?
Not yet. Lol
A common problem with these bikes is that the starter motor clutch tends to go bad because of the high compression and repeated use. I just replaced mine. Have yours checked and replaced if needed. Then get used to kickstarting the bike (especially when cold) and save the e-button for when you're tired on the trails and the bike is already hot.
@@lifeoff-road280 the E start on my 08 locks up and i have to hit the button a few times. but its pretty easy to start it on the first kick if you crack throttle twice. personally i crack it three times.
