Nice shot of Queen Anne's lace wildflower. We don't often appreciate our wildflowers because we think of them as weeds, so it's great that you noticed the beauty. One benefit of long tramps is that we are forced to live in the now. The past and the future (other than the next pizza shop) have no relevance. Kia kaha Michelle.

Thanks for naming this flower for me Robin, I need to get myself more familiar with our flora!!

In light of your anxiety I think your’e doing really well. I think Sir Ed was right when he said “Its not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves”. Just say it to yourself when you need to and use all this early stuff to toughen you a bit for what’s to come. I’m sure you will get used to the pain and as long as you hike your own hike you’ll be sweet as! I’m jealous myself as I’m about 2 years away from doing the TA due to other commitments but I’ll follow you with interest :)

Long White Gypsy No worries, after your Adobe issues I followed your progress on Instagram but I think you must be at the South Island by now despite your then phone vs river issues. It’ll be me on the trail in a few years hopefully. All the best for now. Cheers.

@@robtwizelcleary8344 have you managed to get onto TA yet, or still planning on it?
I am aiming to tackle it next year in the summer season of 22-23 when I turn 65 and get the pension. 😁 👍🏿

Just making my way through these. Great videos so thanks for posting. Planning on doing this next year. When do you think you'll do the South Island leg?

Hi Drew, nice to have you on the channel! You're welcome, and I hope you're finding them helpful for your preparation. I'm hoping to start the South Island around the beginning of January, so not long now!

@@LongWhiteGypsy Awesome! Sounds like a plan, not too long and you can enjoy Xmas with the family before heading out.
Worked through all your hiking videos now of the track and it's helped a lot with getting a feel for the day-to-day as well as things to look out for.
Also been good to escape from the continued (ish) semi-lockdown in the UK.
