Brought up in Ealing my early fishing was on the Grand Union Canal at Horesendon Hill, the Thames at Kingston and a lake in Gunnesbury Park. There is somthing special about (sub) urban fishing accessible by public transport. We need too ensure that future generations of kids have the same access.
Class! It's nice to see the bream taken seriously. Yep, they're a pain when you're after carp, they're pretty easy fish to go for. I remember when a 7lb bream was a big bream, and doubles were unbelievably rare. Then boilies and pellets started going into lakes in big amounts, and the size of bream in most waters now is insane. Great stuff dude!
Great edit,,have loved nicks vids over the years,,,,, Amazing how he can do a video and fill 20mins with his personality and just good fishing,,,, No fishing bollox,,,,kettle shots,, saying “ happy days and” fingers crossed “ every other minute,,,, And all on the wallet friendly Korum tackle,,,,, Great watch,,Many thanks Nick and Korum
Nothing better than a shoal of bream turning up like a herd of cows. Best session last year between me and my mate 183k inc 12 doubles over two days, brilliant sport.
I had this fishing for bream on my local park lake. Pair of rods fishing crushed meat and chilli hemp in the cage feeders with pepperoni on the hairs, couldn't keep a pair of rods in the water truly kicked off on the meat. I do love bream ok they don't fight but when the show up they show up haha
they grow massive in there never fished for and eating carp bait all day long. Ill bet there is a uk record in there. i was trying to set up a silvers match on there.
because I wrap them around distance sticks, say 10 wraps .. then put it in the clip. I do the same with the spod rod and I know that they're both hitting exactly the same spot. Hope that helps!
@@nickmarsh9498- thanks nick - so when the Rod/line is in the water are they still clipped up or do you unclip them? Just thinking if you had a run from a carp.
Great vidio. Fished their a few years back for bream but too easy. However I was interested re roach. I did try for them in high maynard but only got trout. I would be very interested if you cracked how to get speciimen roach which must be there. Perhaps I'll try myself.
Excellent film and some clonking Bream there. They really are a truly magnificent sight at the size.
They go bigger than that in there 👍👍👍

Cracking video you have done there.👍
Unbelievable session.. makes you wonder if there is a challenger to the British record in there!!!!
Definitely could be 100%
There definitely is just not in that res, personally witnessed bream over 20lb from walthamstow
Quality stamp. I have tried a few times and blanked lol
Go back for the roach! 😊
100% 👍
Big, dark, dustbin lids up to 14+lb, that's the dream right there.
I can remember when a 7Lb Bream was considered large you got some proper dustbin lids
Used to ride my BMX over at the Rom 👊🏻
Great video and an unforgettable session 🎣🎣 what did you have your sticks set at?
Sticks were 12ft apart and wrapped around them 10 times.
Cracking video chap 🤘😎🤘 hopefully I can get some success like that this year as I'm chasing a double figure bream the year 😁 🤞🤞🤞 wish me luck
Be lucky mate. Thanks 👍
@@Lifeonthebank thank you 😊 and what res was you on at the complex as i would love to visit there at some point ☺️👍
Lower Maynard 👍
@@Lifeonthebank thanks chap 👍

Forty years ago, when I fished there, ground bait was banned. We had to use large maggot feeders.
Oh, and there were no blocks of flats to be seen.
Great video & fantastic bream. Did you park in the Walthamstow Wetlands Cark Park & if yes how long is the walk to the reservoir?
Parted next to the permit office opposite the ferry boat. Only about a 5-10min walk.
Some proper slabs there Nick, great to see someone catching big bream by design on balanced gear. Was this recent?
Yes, only a couple of weeks back.
Hi, great session. Can I ask which pit you was on? Thanks very much.
👍
Great video. One question is that when you cast the rods do you leave the line clipped up?
because I wrap them around distance sticks, say 10 wraps .. then put it in the clip. I do the same with the spod rod and I know that they're both hitting exactly the same spot. Hope that helps!

Great Video. Where do you park the car at Walthamstow reservoirs ?
Nick, have I seen this film or your own channel already?
What lake is it nick.. n what month did you fîsh. Ta.
Lower Maynard and this was only a couple of weeks ago 👍
@@Lifeonthebank many thanks Nick..
What number res is thats on??
Lower Maynard mate 👍
is it not closed season?
This comment is going to blow your mind, but this was recorded before today!
Close season is on Rivers Not Lakes or reservoirs
Half of Walthamstow is shut March to June. The other side of the road with the lower and higher Maynard are open all year round.
