Kimberly you are doing such a fantastic job in basecamp and your videos go straight to the point. You are adding a layer of professionalism to Basecamp communication strategy like I have not seen before in that company. They should be really happy they have you, congratulations for your great work, you can be proud of yourself for what you are doing, excellent job and congratulations!
Love the videos. Explained very well. A list of all these videos covering the basics is going to be great adding these as part of a template for onboarding new users
@@37signals Kimberly maybe one quick-start for newcomers to a basecamp: how to see what's around, how to join a project, follow / unfollow etc.? keep up the great work thank you and warm regards from italy
These videos are great! Very polished and professional! I wondered whether you might share some detail about when to use the message board vs creating a document? It can feel obvious at first thought but sometimes you might put a pitch idea in a message and other times you might create the pitch as a document. Thanks!
Hi Josh! That's a great question. I polled some folks at the Basecamp team just to get some opinions in addition to my own. The consensus is that a document works best when you want to workshop something that might change or anticipate wanting to create something that can have updated versions. While both documents and messages can be edited and have a change log, documents have the ability to go back to previous versions and have more detailed versioning information, which works really well for making updates. Message Board is best when you want to make an announcement or pitch an idea that is fairly finalized, and the discussion around the message likely won't change the overall message content. We also see (and recommend) using messages and files in combination. Because message board posts are a bit more prominent, we love to see messages that hyperlink to further developed Basecamp documents. I hope that helps! -Kimberly
@@37signals well not having clients click a link to go to the Loom video and having it directly embedded in messages, comments, etc would be more elegant. Also since Loom is all about avoiding meetings it would be a nice fit with Basecamp
Ah, I see! So where I mention the types of links that Basecamp automatically embeds (TH-cam, Spotify, Twitter), you'd like to also see Loom as an option. Got it! I'll pass this along as a feature request for the team. Thanks for watching and the feedback! -Kimberly
I have pictures from a friends game camera,Really weird videos and things have happened on their property. How do i send a pic and they agreed to talk to Chris.
