You are absolutely correct with your comparison to a motorbike. I stopped riding street motorcycles a few years ago because of a crash so this is a great alternative.
I daily'd a Caterham 7SV 2003-2015 34 miles a day commuting to and from work throughout the year regardless of the weather (the 7was my only car), took it shopping, went on weekend trips and holidays, the whole nine yards. At 5ft8 with size 7 feet I had no problems getting into/driving the car, especially as it was a slightly wider SV, despite using racing seatbelts. There was also a surprising amount of room for storage - not just the boot, but also behind the seats and on top of the boot, using a Softbits E Bag. Winter driving on snow and ice needed some care, as it would with any othe car and standing water was a considerable hazard. However, the only time I found driving it seriously scary was heading south from Greenford through London at night in heavy rain with the roof up trying to follow my SatNav (M25 closed) - visibility was terrible, despite the heated windscreen. I still have the car, it is still my daily (and only) driver and I still enjoy every minute of it.
Well I think you have provided the definitive answer, that you can daily a caterham! Thank you for taking the time to comment! It also sounds like we had a similar experience when we drropped the car back, rain, thunder and lightning and dark! That was pretty hairy!
Biggest takeaway from this video is that you had smiles on your faces all the way through - not many cars manage to do that. I find driving barefoot is easiest in my 170 and will look at a way to convert the accelerator pedal to be more offset from the brake pedal in future. I'm 6'2" and having built it, unsurprisingly I did develop the knack of easily getting in and out of it.
Absolutely, no car tops it for smiles per mile! We are all 6'2 (despite Ed's claims in the video haha) I think it has more to do with glass backs then potentially a problem with the car haha!
I used my 2 Caterhams for 8 years as a daily. Then i had an Elise for 8 years as a daily. You don't think, i can't do that with this car, you think, how can i do that with this car.
He is just being a prick. You didn't do anything against the law ( from what i saw) u need to come back and experience the TT. Did u get my comment about looking into homestay if u visit?
Thanks Andy, I am guessing this is about a comment on the TT video? We absolutely would love to come back and experience the TT its on the list to-do! Any advice on the best way to experience the TT?
@@NaturallyAspirated probably look into the home stay program. A lot of people if they going on holiday rent their properties out. No getting soaked in a field using a tent and u get all the facilities to use. If that's not what you were asking get back to me. Also check out Peter Hickman chin camera lap it's crazy scary....
@@NaturallyAspirated also book soon. Transport is hard to book if u leave it too late. Especially if u are bringing vehicles. Lots of visitors booking many months in advance
@@NaturallyAspirated I believe so. I have heard some book for the next year just after the current years event is over. Check the Steam packet website if u are coming by boat again
How many times do we think Tommo actually tried to park?
😅
I have a Birkin S3 and live in Arizona. Can confirm my feet get quite toasty in the summer.
No rain, lots of sunshine, but people drive like crazy.
There is a wider version(SV), you should try that. I'm building from scratch my own Locost, that is 4" wider + 4" longer and the chassis is 2" taller.
Would love to have a go in a SV, might help with our loftyness! I can see you are a person of taste with an Alfa as your display pic as well!

Sorry to her about your crash, but maybe the Caterham offers a good alternative !
I've been using mine daily for 2 months, but I'm not that tall so it's plenty comfy. I can even manage to drive it with Caterpillar boots.
Love this! Glad you can ! Would have loved to have been able to more, I think a poor choice of shoes from some members of the channel!
@@NaturallyAspirated for long trips and the best experience narrow shoes with thin soles are a necessity for everyone I think.
@@ndupontnet Yea, I had to rock my adidas Sambas as they were the only ones that fit... basically a racing shoe anyway!

Daily-able!!
How did Tom get his driving license?! 😂 #parkingfail
Some say he brought it from a market stall in Hackney...
😎👍🏽
