I was sitting here almost in tears looking at how much I have advanced and have no financial worries or emotional instability whatsoever anymore. They will make you feel like nothing and fragile. I am 50/50 on this because even the most unpleasant events can make a person know their worth & value. It is not the situation, but mostly how a person decides to be afterward. There are people out there who don't want to become a monster even after receiving treatment from one.

The other thing you mentioned about a damaged person pissing on a good person & going back to the monster and how the one who goes back is a monster, I do not agree with. Here is why; People who suffer abusive trauma have their own spirit broken to the point that they don't believe they deserve better. These broken spirits not only have self-esteem issues but also suffer neurological damages caused by their abuser(monster). They will show signs of Stockholm Syndrome as well. They are not leaving the new good person to be spiteful, sometimes they do it unknowingly. They go back to the bad person because it's familiar & the abused person is afraid of new things because they don't want to be hurt worse than the monster previous. People who go through mental, emotional, and physical abuse are very tricky to understand & it is also difficult for them to understand themselves sometimes. If you think they go back because of spite or because they are a monster, then you require to understand their circumstances as to why they did it. They are not taking a piss, they are literally frightened themselves of the good & the bad. They require patience & kind encouragement that helps them regain their own confidence again.

I can see how a person might prefer the monster they know to a potential new monster they dont, especially with the familiar monster lying to them to keep them under control. Most of these relatioships are narcissistc and yes hard to get out of and trust others. Been there, survived it. Got away from it. I was badly abused, beaten, bones broken, and strangled. I got away but it wasnt easy. Psychology has proven the longer you are with a malignant narcissist, it is possible to aquire their behaviors, not always, there are exceptions. I didnt.I learned to detach from the narc but not others. The ones I know of however, were cruel, lost, be it a narc parent or spouse, they took on their traits. Narcs can create narcs.Maybe they did not intend to take those traits, but to tolerate the abuse they had to detach the heart to deal with it. The thing is to not go full on cold hearted to everyone with a nihilistic attitude that everyone is that way, they are not. There is stil real love in this world, try to be strong enough to reach out and grab it. Stop self sabotaging out of unrealistic fears a narc fed to you. Love yourself enough to be free to love again and accept love. You are worth it and more. Life doesnt have to hurt. Real love does not hurt it heals. If you commit to a new person, vow to be theirs forever, then ridicule them, lie to them, abandon them for money, you have become their monster now. I know, its my story as a survivor.

And I know he went back to the streets when I left him. He sucked the life out of me. These toxic people do that and they never change. Sometimes you have to leave someone you love. You must save yourself. We are all responsible for saving ourselves only.

When you begin to speak the truth the narcissists in your life who never want to solve issues, yet sweep and deflect and make you the problem for wanting to speak out but how when you’re surrounded by people who don’t want to be accountable.
