    The killer part of this is the harmonic section. I love that oscillating motion. Really sets the mood! 👌 Reminds me of Koji Kondo in Yoshi’s Island or Twilight Princess. Well done!

    I would walk through an old town at night and watch the brick walls' and lanterns' reflect in the water of the softly trickling river to this music.

    I love how the harp accompanies key changes and that music box gives me flashbacks to your other song "Puzzling Caverns" :) Great job!

    This is so serene, you're amazing at turning themes into a melody! When or where do you most often have melodies come to you? Or do you start with an idea first and build from there?

      thank you, i'm glad you like the melodies! i usually come up with ideas while doodling on the piano, since i can consider the melody and chords at the same time, which is easier/more natural for me. sometimes i'll piano sketch more or less an entire song before i start writing anything down, but other times i'll just sketch small idea fragments as a starting point, and then let myself be guided by how the arrangement unfolds. (this song fell more into the second category, although it strayed a bit from my usual process of writing the melody and chords at once.. my starting idea was the chords for the opening few measures and the part @ ~0:40 - 0:48, and i came up with the melody sometime afterwards.)

    yo what daw is this

    • @rewitkin
      @rewitkin  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      this is ALMAMPlayer, a midi visualizer program (not a daw). the workflow for using it typically looks like this: write music in a daw (FL Studio in my case) -> export the music as both a multitrack midi file and rendered audio file -> import both the midi file and rendered audio into ALMAMPlayer -> adjust the visuals -> export as a video file
      you can download it here:
