Some cons: 10 LEDs can draw up to 200mA from the power stage, thats quite a lot The resistors can't be changed easily, so it only works well with one specific amplifier (output voltage) But for such a simple circuit, these are not big problems thanks!
I think the capacitors there will cause a bandpass effect on the speaker - not much, because the capacitance is pretty high so only the lowest frequencies will be cut, but still some. Not to mention the impedance, which will be severely affected. So a series resistor (some 10-20R) would be better.
You really should look up a LM3916. No Arduino or code needed. This isn't really a VU Meter circuit. Driving it off the speaker out of any amp is a bad idea, as the amps rail voltage goes up. hence people burning this cct up with higher watt rated amps. Cool tho. Have fun.

I would think using 25 volt capacitors would allow them to be used on systems larger than 100 watts, like maybe 150 watts. That is enough to cover most surround systems.
if you using less than 25 source voltage then you use if you capacitor above 25 source voltage then it will break to use 125watt you need to work on 20_24 volt & 6.25 to 5.20 amp current then you will use capacitor 25 voltage

can i use pam8403 audio amp to directly give it amplified input without using speaker. I want to use it with 5+5w amplifier so definitely it will not work properly so i think can i give vu meter its own seperate audio signal input.

Connect this one via separate amplifier only, otherwise you'll get terrible nonlinear distortion on output.
Maybe put a opAmp getting the signal and then put this in its output with a driving transistor
