Saw an interview that Aretha gave where she talked about writing this song. She admitted she wrote it with her current beau at the time, Dennis Edwards ( singer with the Temptations) in mind. I have always loved this song. Thanks for reacting to this. R.I.P. Queen of Soul.
One of the Best Ever ... All Time Favourite Song from the Legend!! & this "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" another All Time Favourite..
She recorded at muscle Shoals recording studio in Alabama, and she always used the all white rhythm section, and studio musicians, the legendary swampers on all our hits. same group of guys that played on most of Bob Seger’s hits and 79 other golden platinum hits
❤❤❤❤ He's the kind of guy that would say "Hey, baby, let's get away, let's go some place, huh" Where, I don't care He's the kind of guy that you give your everything And trust your heart, share all of your love, 'til death do you part
Hi Ms. Asia and Mr. BJ I'm Remember This Reaction on Live Because I'm comment how Much I'm Really Love Ms. Asia Fresh Shirt. Her Shirt Reminds Me Song Called Fresh By: Kool & The Gang.😊😍🥰❤
On one of her later slbums (maybe the last, but im not sure) there's another daydream song, "Just my Daydream". It's also good (Luther Vandross produced), and might be an interesting comparison. Also, Corinne Bailey Rae covers this. Her softer, more girlish voice gives it a different feel. Like when Aretha sings it i feel like the "where i dont care" is Paris or some tropical island, and when Corinne sings it, it's to the amusement park or ice cream shop.
Ya’ll, there ain’t NO WAY you both never heard this song before? I’m white Australian and grew up with this. Aretha is the QWEEN… BJ is so cute and romantic to Asia, she ain’t having it. Soo cute and funny. Love yas both
OOOWEEE!😢❤😂 NOT... The CLOTHES LINE, The JUMP ROPE, AND BOBBY JACKS!😂 You got me all SENTIMENTAL! And this is me AND My Mama's FAVORITE Aretha Franklin song! Much Love✊🏽❤ -From A 1964 Baby 👑🔥🙏🏽❤️ Thanks For The Memories✨
Yes prior to the 1980s.. they would have literally dozens of musicians at times in the studio playing a variety of real instruments.. but when the 80s came in electronic sounds started to begin to take over to replace drums, primarily and then also other real instruments were replaced by synthesized sounds to imitate instruments..which is less cost than bringing in 12 people... So pop and RB..left off real instruments..
WTF I sent the super chat with this song and y'all put it in a survey and it got voted in Thank you chat for your votes I would have liked the shout-out Remember me If I request another song it WILL BE FIRE
Her real life story is deep and dark but she over came a lot adversity..having a baby at 12 years old and another one at 14 was very tough on young Aretha...you definitely have to watch the Documentary..
"Young Gifted & Black" was Aretha's 18th secular studio album, about 15 or 16 years into her recording career. "Rock Steady" (which she also wrote) was on this album.
There's a reason why Aretha is the Queen of Soul! I grew up with her, Patti LaBelle, Marvin Gaye, James Brown. How did I get so lucky??!! ❤
All icons!
I love all of their music. And Stevie Wonder.

Could it be Daydreaming by Cam’ron where you heard this sample? I think I remember it being popular at some point.

The Queen of soul. No one ever called her the mother of soul. She didn't birth soul but she was the queen.
