Truth is though, while the viewer tends to assume wrestlers off camera continue doing whatever they were doing until told otherwise, if you want to be "realistic", you can just tell them otherwise! Oh my god, they're fighting again. Continuity issues solved with one sentence. AEW is a comedy promotion though, "fighting the whole time" might be the desired impression.

The opening would of meant something if Alen, Perry, and Sammy had been booked to be right behind MJF but instead Sammy was horribly booked, Perry was forgotten about, and Allen has been beaten like a drum mostly when not tagging with Sting. What would of been a big moment about the future being now, was instead hey remember when we said these were the four pillars we're doing that again. Which a casual fan wouldn't remember they said it. Because they hadn't booked the show to reflect it. And then the announcing just makes it so Indy league sounding. You have man in the mask spending half the show giving moves already known a this is what it called instead. And the other half of the show talking like how the opening segment was. Assuming everyone knows or remembers everything. You know what they say about when you assume. They need a Kelly or Ian who knows how to commentate a wrestling show while talking to the fans not like they are stupid like WWE does, but they fill in the blanks when needed

I think Jim fast-forwards through a lot of WWE as most of the time there is wasted on walking to the ring, posing in the ring, talking in the ring, etc. WWE has writers who crank out most of their crap, so without knowing who specifically wrote which segment, Jim doesn't have a name to attach to the bad writing the wrestlers have to recite. Tony, on the other hand, is in every aspect of the AEW shows, so it isn't difficult to point the finger at him.
