Inspired by Shambush, our Wuthermothers, lovely people from all over Perth joined together to recreate the iconic Bushtastic dance moves of Wuthering Heights in their best Kate Bush frocks.
This vividly illustrates why polished, coordinated glossy performances dreamed up by committee will never beat one inspired artist doing their own thing in a simple setting. Kate Bush's strange, revolutionary, abandoned dance, shot on grainy film, is more wonderful and more worshiped than a thousand MTV Music Awards highlights or Superbowl half-time performances.
Because she is an artist, and unafraid, and it was all her idea.

Love to see the happiness and joy Kate Bushs wonderful song Wuthering heights can give,and this so long after it was released in 1978. The video also was truly mesmerizing and together,its a knockout...with her angelic feminine voice on top of that...I wonder what Kate Bush would say concerning these days to her song and her honour......
we did this today in ballarat. I been watching videos from all cities in the last few hours. this one is the most in sync one i have come across so far. Great work Perth :)

Very cool. I am a big fan of kate bush. It is a more than deserved tribute. This song causes inexplicable sensations. I was fascinated from the first second I heard it and after decades every time I hear it the magic repeats itself. I love Kate Bush and I am very happy to have known her wonderful art. I am thrilled. I was only 4 when the song came out, but still remember being mesmerised by this film clip. I wanted to be Kate! 💗🌵

Love the music, dance, Kate, from wayback when. Enjoy the dance's revival, though not everbody is so agile or coordinated, to do justice to the dance and honour its creator. It is a lot faster than Tai Chi moves lol.
The point is not to to do justice to the dance as a professional would, but to lose yourself in it, like a child alone. Anybody can do it. That's the point.

For any West Aussies watching this in July 2023, local perth community radio station 88.5 is advertising wuthering heights event on their website. At stirling square guildford on 30 July 2023 between 1.30 and 5. Don't know if rehearsals are happening g. I am learning from youtube - wuthering heights dance tutorial - an Australian lady. Getting my red dress organised.😊😊

Was musing about this might turn into an annual event, but with an expanding Ancient Druid theme. A ceremony held around the time of the equinox (winter in Australia, otherwise too hot in long sleeve robes). Can have in addition to this dance performance, a range of simplified moves in circular processions or square dance arrangement, with Kate a la Kathy dressed in crimson red dresses, Wizzards in sky (baby boy) Blue robes, Heathcliffs in black and grey clothes, weeping willows in dark green. The green willow naturally do mainly sweeping gestures with gentle swaying and upper body movements but no leg kicks or skipping. The blue wizzard has some leg and arm moves but no whirling, spinning or twirling. The Heathcliff and Kathy do lots of spinning and skipping. In this way the community can include the aged and the very young participants too.
