He left the car out in the cold for 4 days without turning it on so the battery got drained. Very simple. There was nothing wrong with the actual car. He just doesn't know you're suppose to turn it on every couple of days to recharge the battery. Now it just needs a new one. Completely his fault.
What I'm getting happened is he drove the car to his destination, left it out in the cold for 4 days without starting it and the battery got drained. That's a common thing that happens during winter when you leave a car out without turning it on occasionally to refill the battery. There was nothing wrong with the actual car, he just misused it basically which makes sense since he doesn't own a car and wouldn't know this stuff.
I especially appreciated that he said he doesnt own a car and then acted like $800 is a lot of money to rent a Jeep for 5 days. I'd say that's a damn cheap rental price to rent a Jeep for that long!
I heard that line about standing in the street while I was crossing an actual street and sipping a coffee, and it made me choke from laughter. Hazel blowing up at the guy was a real treat, too.
