I’ve recently stepped into the world of freelance game design after being full time for over 10 years. Finding clients is proving to be quite tricky, but admittedly, I naively disregarded boosting my online presence with social media to increase my chances of clients *finding me*. Great video and thanks for the upload!

OMG! This is gold! What an excellent video @Sykoo. I'm getting information and some "directions" to start working with games, most on the part of level design and perhaps some environament artists. And your video clarified the path for me! I'm excited to start learning different level design editors and more stuff around, like you said about knowing more from the "scope". Thanks for putting effort doing this awesome content.
I will keep watching your videos and your other stuff, I want to become an top tier level designer :P

Very cool video man, super useful information. I have done plenty of freelance art over the years and I cannot stress enough to any one starting out. You need to learn contracts it's super important to protect you and your clients. I wish good intentions were everywhere but there is plenty of people that will take advantage of your ability. So please google/learn standard contracts for your industry. But again really cool video, I have recently considered shifting into game development (modelling, environment design and concept art) and the info here was interesting and informative. Thanks and take care, keep the good content coming.

I have more than 10 years as a freelancer and frankly they should renamed this to slavelancer, a slavelancer typical week is composed of 8 days and you cut in your sleep hours to meet deadline and often even if pro you will get peanuts for your work.
The author here is not giving you the real picture about the industry and if you want a social life and a quality life stay far aways from the video games industry.

While waiting for a reply from various applications, I'm polishing my skills and learning how to use Quixel. So I decided to freelance in game design because a few months ago I want to finish some side projects that I started a few months ago. Can I contact you, so I can send you my portfolio?

Oh god.. so many platitudes, so little useful information....
Did I miss it or did you really not answer the first question in the title - how to get customers?
You said how to present oneself and how to treat customers, but not how to get some... you said if you have more diverse skills, you'll get more diverse jobs(scope of support) - well duh ;)...
Also listing the different types of companies that will offer you work with or without contract etc. isn't really answering the question - is it? There's no one offering at the beginning. People can't setup their social media and wait till somebody finds them...
The closest thing to really answering this for a beginner was when you said you gonna search and find clients and offer solutions, but where do I search? where do potential clients reveal their problems I can offer solutions for?
"It's important to find a customer, but it is more important to find more than one customer, so it's important the customer leaves the skype conversation with a smile" - what? how does that bring you more customers? Sure there can be a referral once in a year - but you didn't even explain where to find the first customer.. or the second.
I feel you talk about work ethic here, but that's the same for every job - of course you will be more successful if you have a great work ethic, but you don't answer specifics for freelancing in the game industry, which is what the title promises.
Just as an example.. the rant from 10:00 to 12:35 - so many repetitions, so much fluff, so little information.
What you basically said in this vid is:
    - Have a good work ethic - it will pay out in the future.
    - Have good communication - it will pay out in the future.
    - Know your shit.
    - Increase your skill scope, because it increases your work opportunities.
    - Show off your stuff - it helps to convince new customers you know your shit.
    - You will have different types of customers - with or without contract, returning customers, new ones.
    - Sometimes customers will find you(not happening at the beginning), sometimes you will find the customers(no details given)
    What is missing is:
    - How to get customers
This would be a good video, if you'd change the title and cut the repetition, so the information is presented in 10mins, but it doesn't deliver on what the title promises right now.
Please don't take this as a personal attack - I'm just trying to be straight and not sugarcoat things.

aren't models with triangles like the ones u use in the videos heavy
