For me the most important segment within this piece comes around 30 odd minutes in where he talks about Performance & Handling. If you are into cars then you'll understand what I/ he means. The Summary is equally as good. Great review.
Unfortunately I couldn’t make it as I was on holiday with my family. Alpine were amazing and offered me another date the following week, but it was the same day I was in Portugal testing another new car, so had to turn them down again! Looks like it will have to wait until we get our hands on a RHD car in the UK sadly…..😞
@@AutoEVthanks for your reply. I fear you might have a bit of a wait. Hopefully there will be a rhd car coming to the UK for evaluation before the launch.
I like it. I also like the R5 that it's based upon. However I think that if given the choice I'd pick the R5 over the Alpine. At 150bhp and 1.5 tonne the R5 will still be quick enough and nimble enough, to keep a smile on my face. I'm not saying that the Alpine wouldn't mind, the grin would still be there, but bigger I'm not so sure. Of course the price difference between the two will also be a huge factor to consider, when there could be up to a £10k difference between them. Price would be the biggest factor for me at least. That Lancia looks a bit tasty though. I really hope that the second hand market stays where it is for a few more years, because there'll be some cracking deals to be had.
I’m a lover of small quick cars and I like it, but as I’m now in my early 60s I’m not sure it’s a good look for me 😅. If I was in my late thirties I’d probably buy one.
Blue is not the Alpine signature colour, it is the french racing colour. Just like British racing green doesn't belong to a car brand but belongs to a country.
How often do you go out and see what you can do to 100? I drive a Renault RS250 Cup Trophee, not for it's 0 to 100 but for the twisty roads in 2nd to 4th gear. That's where the fun lies.
I prefer a hot hatch as a sleeper- in 1997 i had a peugeot 306gti which looked liked a 306 diesel! if the alpine looks like this then hopefully it will be very good performance and chassis- renault were always good with chassis
At 39:20, you read off some names that you reckon should be on everyone's shortlist, but...where is the VW ID.GTI? If someone is a "petrolhead", then why would they as you see it, be salivating over the upcoming raft of EV's? Surely to be of that ilk, they will buy the last of the ICE cars, or hold onto their current cars until they are BER?
What a loada shite, looks nice. Couldnt stand the sound. It sounds like a playstation game from the early days..... Awful sound!!! Stick a 2 litre turbo in it. It's a milk float painted blue
A real car salesman. Make the weaknesses the strong, with a lot of emotion. Is not going to succeed. Under motorized, too slow, acceleration does count, in and after every turn. Sheep in wolf clothes.

Thank you for both watching and taking the time to send such a lovely comment. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the car ❤❤❤❤
Hi, did you get to Mallorca to test drive the A290? Driving impressions to come?

Love the car❤ the brand came out in 1955

Fair to say it's both.
It would have nice to see more colour options especially Renault’s signature yellow like on the old Megane.

I NEED ONE

shame they didnt build the alpine concept with the 3 seats and central front seat- that would be awesome
No cup holder? I know that shouldn’t matter but it really does!
1955 is the year I was born. The secret is out

It’s enormous!
Thought it, or the Renault 5 at least, was supposed to be about the same size as the outgoing Zoe
@@choshun8 cars look bigger if they are boxy.
Shouldn't the arrow face the back on the car, I know this French car is not for military use but still.
The X’s all over the front just ruin the design for me.
That’s a nod to the tape over the rally cars lights to stop them shattering if hit by a stone.
@@AutoEVyeah but it looks like your driving an X (twitter) advertisement! 😂
It looks like Xs on the eyes of a dead cartoon character. Or DeadmauS
