I was born in Patterson Ca. I grew up in Newman, Patterson and Gustin. I have many relativesin this cemettery. I actually enjoy that you vistit cemeteries. These people are forgoten and when you vistit it brings back there memory.
Jeff & Sarah: I challenge you to investigate the story of “Marshall South” he and his family lived, off the grid on top of a mountain in the Anza Borrego desert in Southern California in the 40s and wrote regular articles for Desert Magazine, you can hike up to the ruins and remnants of his home and find his grave site in the quaint wonderful apple pie town of Julian, if you don’t know the story, you’ll love it!
As a young child my grandmother would take me to various cemeteries to look at headstones and always said there is history here. Now I take my grandson and do the same thing. Thank you
Fascinating tour! Graveyards conjured many emotions. The older I get, the more relaxed I am and the more I can appreciate all the sights and artwork. To me, it serves as a reminder to live each day to the fullest for we don't know how many we have left.
I love the cemetery episodes it highlights the people long forgotten that paved the way to the place we are today. When you do retire and do this full time I got a spot for you in Florida to come stay. Safe travels thanks for sharing.
This video really got my attention when I realized that you opened it standing in front of my first wife. Thank you Jeff for bringing history back to life.
I use to think that checking out a graveyard was kind of creepy but you make it seem enjoyable and knowledgeable. Thank you again Jeff for a wonderful show.
It's good to see such a well-cared for cemetery. Places such as this contain a wealth of stories about the people who once inhabited the area and helped to make it what it is today.
I had no idea a cemetery in Newman would be that populated considering its current size. Just goes to show, you learn something every day. Another good one Jeff!
Great video Jeff. Nice to see an older cemetery that is well maintained. So many aren't. I too am fascinated by the local history that can be gleaned from cemeteries, and have checked out many. Have you ever been through the old Sacramento cemetery on Broadway? It's probably my favorite. The history and some of the monuments are fascinating.
Yes I have done a video on the old Sacramento City Cemetery! I also plan to go back to do some more! Here is a link to my video there: th-cam.com/video/0n0p4afktG0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tEsOqQO71G9tCE8Z
Thnx for my weekly HH "fix" Jeff! Would love to see you doing this full time!!! Bet Sarah would love it too! Always enjoy your deep dives to those who have passed, to bring them to life for us! ~Chris
Good morning Professor, 😂, I’ve always been so fascinated by older graves and thought how many family member’s still visit them? Or are great people like you the only ones to visit and retell their story?
in most old sections of cemeteries, I notice that there are almost no flowers left there for the graves. So many of the people that knew these people are now also dead themselves.
I really like when you do these cemetery tours and talk about some of the people that are buried there. There’s lots of history in cemeteries. Well done.
Made me laugh! No, I completely understand your interest in cemeteries. Been that way all my life...I was just a kid when my parents took us to her old family cemetery where 4 generations were buried.....way out in the woods where the family home was......found it fascinating...even as teenagers a group of us looked in woods for cemeteries while other teens were doing whatever things teens did at the time... .the HISTORY of cemeteries is so valuable....what you are doing will last forever! You have probably found many graves of people's families that they never knew of......don't stop! You have many, many fans! You should be able to quit your day job soon because your channel IS growing! I know as soon as I get a notification, I stop what I'm doing and watch immediately!!!!! Thank you for doing what you do!
A cemetery is a place of historical records. Usually in a peaceful and beautiful setting. Each headstone is a rememberance of those who went before us, a memorial (no matter how humble) to a life lived on this earth. No, Jeff, you don't sound sick! I feel the same way! I love cemeteries!
I liked this show a lot. My favorite is the old west cemeteries, and the stories from them. How they had life so different than now. Thanks for another good video Jeff.
I think it's nice to bring these people back to today. I like to think that one day, long after I am gone, someone will stop and my grave and think/wonder about me or just pay their respects. I love wandering cemeteries, I love seeing all the names and I too love the ones with photos!
Another facinating trip. I love hearing the stories of our past. My husband & I wonder in cemeteries. Passed down from my mother and I, his father and him. This past summer, we found ourselves along with our sons and two grandchildren reading headstones and learning local history.
History is when we came from. Knowing our past is as important as knowing your future plans or present mindset. History was one of my favorite subjects in school. If you were a teacher who knows how to tell a story like Jeff, you had my attention, and I'd learn. Here's hoping you and Sara can spend full-time traveling and exploring. Do school children still go on field trips these days? It would be a shame if they didn't. Great video, as always. Thanks, Jeff.
I love these cemetery posts. Learning about the people who passed. I am amazed at the sculptures I have seen at cemeterys all over. The detail on them is so beautiful. I just find it fascinating how they can make such beautiful pieces! I would be lucky to make a blob. 😊
I love the old cemeteries and the stories they tell. I had scarlet fever when I was in first grade. I remember being very sick. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
It's always one of the highlights to wait for your new video on a sunday afternoon. ( I live in the Netherlands ) Thanks for your amount of research you do always. Be blessed and i am already exited for next sunday.

The people whose memorials you visit and bring back to life must look down on you from heaven, grateful for your visit. Cheers!
A nice tended cemetery for a change. I love for you to read the 1800's and before. You can almost picture the time in history. Thanks Jeff, interesting stories.
Hi! Love your videos. Not sick at all. It is a reality, will happen to us all. I love how you show the headstones. You're doing a great job. Thanks for showing these. The phone did well!
Jeff howdy, when I resided in the San Gabriel Valley this is exactly what we did...visited graveyards! And so @5:21 you mentioned something about morbid, the fact of the matter is none of us will make it out alive which is a part of life so in the meantime (for me) enjoy life one day at a time and respect your fellow man. Thank you for another grand video production
I always enjoy your videos and look forward to them each week. When I was visiting central Claifornia a couple of years ago, what I had seen on your channel had helped me better understand the area I was touring.
Thanks for sharing Jeff, that is a very well kept cemetery. I am amazed how well the pictures held up like the one of the 12 year old young lady that was buried there.
Jeff always love to hear your storytelling to hear the back stories of these people. Everyone has a story I have never seen that cemetery. That was awesome. Thank you. Liz

i enjoy hearing the stories about people that lived in the 1800s. People who might be forgotten if we don't share their story.
The Ball or ( Sphere) is usually a symbol of the soul waiting for resurrection. Great video Jeff!
People don't realize the wealth of information gotten from cemeteries. You do an excellent job of showing that.

I totally agree! They are like pages of history just awaiting discovery!

Yes. Her name is Patricia Lyman. I live about 10 minutes from that cemetery. I visit my wife’s grave every now and then.

Hello Jeff, Happy Sunday. Thanks for sharing another interesting story on Hills Ferry Cemetery and the lives that once was. Have a great day!

Great video Jeff. Nice to see an older cemetery that is well maintained. So many aren't.
