Time stamps with the tunes’ names would put this over the top. (And give more views from people who are just searching the tunes by name) And stellar playing, BTW!
I never try and say who's better than the other. IMO, A great musician is measured by style and technique. Patrick has developed a unique style with amazing technique, his voice is his own. Emmet, also has unsurpassed talent. Just my 2 !
Live at Emmet's Place Vol. 16 will go down in history as an example of an inspired modern jazz trio, with 3 gifted instrumentalists who don't need to look at each other to understand each other, led by a 30-year-old piano genius who has assimilated the history of jazz with the future in front of him.
Emmet, I love what you are doing man. Everyone sounds so beautiful. You guys are keeping the tradition fresh and alive in a truly admirable and powerful way!
Emmet's solo 25:15 on "Autumn Leaves" brilliant harmonization. 55:30 love "See You In My Dreams". Swingin! Oh my and that stride solo!!!! 1:10:00 my heart was beating like a hammer
48:48 Russell's hat falls off due to the immense heat Patrick creates with his horn during the solo. And then he just casually drops this 49:11 omg what a legend
Hey Emmet: There could never have been a living room like yours in the history of jazz or maybe even in the history of music. If so not available to us. Hope one day these volumes all come in a boxed set_DVD.producer,director jazz piano master gathering so many wonderful musicians to make the music with you.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!D,Vancouver.
This is just beautiful 😍 A lovely hour and much more of wonderful inspiring jazz from you laced with fun and enveloped by your all round brilliance 👌👌 Emmett is a modern day distilled essence of jazz piano across a 50 year haul The ease with which he rolls out tune after tune with fresh inventiveness is a marvel And he’s in such good company Hope you guys go on forever !
:: Jedi Master Level: when @Emmet Cohen is killin' it on the piano, (at 13:26) while hearing a cellphone ringtone and waits for somebody to get rid of that damn phone !!!! hahahaha ::
Thank you so much for saving my soul once a week. Being at home all the time is better with live jazz, even if I am a day late watching the video! You guys make me know that we no longer have to worry about jazz dying with my generation. Maybe when this is all over you can come down to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico for one of our jazz festivals. PS And to Robert McCollam, what a blessing to have had surgery and this jazz to speed the healing
Patrick is something else but man, the rest of these players are just as amazing in their own way. On my 50th time listening I really started to pay attention to the drummer and, yea, wow. Love the expressiveness. I'd hire him, heck, I'd hire all of them in a heartbeat even if I didn't make any money off the gig!
Amazing rendition of Autumn Leaves. The lightness and flow is incredible. Keep playing and sharing it to the world. Hello from Madeira Island - Portugal.
Love this episode! There used to be a comment with all the tunes bookmarked that I don’t see any more. Would it be possible for you guys to add chapters like you have on some episodes? Thank you, and thank you for all the inspiring music!!
Bravo Emmet and you monster musicians! Yes, you are all so talented and inspired by the Greats before us, but the work you've put in to realise that talent is awesome. You bring light joy and genius into the world. So grateful to you for every note.
You have incredible technical facilities and interpretation skills. I hope you compose a lot of music. The rhythm section feel is as good as it gets, nice job gentlemen. I hope I am blessed enough to play with you guys. Can we do 26-2?
it’s around 3 minutes into their rendition of ‘after you’ve gone’ as well, I believe originally I’ve heard it on Miles’s Dr. Jekyll and a couple minutes into Cedar’s Blues w Bob Berg
Hi I’m new to jazz so I don’t really understand 33:00. Is it because the feel changing from like a tango vibe to regular jazz vibe, and the fact that it wasn’t planned but all of them went together nonetheless?
Yeah so around 32:40 they switched to Latin grove. While I don’t know for sure, they probably talked about it before the set but it’s definitely not written or anything just really good dudes having fun
Pretty much, it wasn’t expected and it just felt so good, you will get it more if you listen on something where you can hear and FEEL the bass going back to walking quarter notes. It just felt good so all they could do was yell hahah
Bro...what?? What happened at 48:32 Bro??? 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾. I mean What?? That was the blackest thing I’ve heard all year!! Fiddle sticks! Jumping Juniper!! 🤦🏽♂️
I'm laying in the ICU of a Chicago Hospital after open heart surgery and you guys are making it ok!
The medicine of beautiful people. Feed the soul, and feel better.
Sayin a lil prayer for ya.
Hope you are okay man all the best
It's funny you say that, because this video sent me to the ICU because my heart stopped
Time stamps with the tunes’ names would put this over the top. (And give more views from people who are just searching the tunes by name)
And stellar playing, BTW!
I really believe Pat is the best saxophonist of our generation.
Na Kenny G
I utterly agree Sam. Genius Jazzman. Miss Jenny swaying along in Midtown.
Look up Brian Hogans playing with Sean Jones quartet.

Well said. Literally am just discovering them. Cory Henry, now Emmet...who know yet another exciting "new twist" could be brought to the platform.
The whole series is just outstanding. They should make a box set of DVDs according to the guest (for example). Each performance is priceless.
