Don't know why, but that picture reminds me of Total Recall on Mars, the end part lol. Also, Picard seems so proud of himself when he says, not forgetting Mr Crushers, he's thinking, finally I can get rid of the little shit lol.
@@twocows360 "a tuba on a checkerboard" he called it. It was fruit ninja of the 90s, but with electronic space meth/fentanyl and a splash of brain washing.
It was’t about the act of putting discs in tubes, but getting the physiological equivalent of a strong hit of dopamine from a scheduled narcotic everytime you did as a reward. It’s always seemed like a climax, you bet that is addictive.
Considering what video game art looked like in 1990, it was about as advanced as 3D graphics got, skinned meshes were bleeding edge at this point. Industrial Light and Magic (the people who did all the CGI for Star Trek) were actually involved in the development of early 3D games, as they were pretty much on the cutting edge of that stuff at the time, most notably Final Fantasy VII, but that was a whole generation off from this Besides, how many people got way too emotionally invested in Flappy Bird? And the graphics in that were far more simple, and didn't even have any sort of direct brain stimulation.
@@knightshousegames Sadly, Flappy bird uses massive amounts of indirect brain stimulation on the user to sell a product. Money is just as addictive as the hardest drugs.
2:03 Wesley should've tried calling Worf a coward to snap him out of it, and that he was too scared to live among his own people!!!!! Y'know, Captain Kirk-style, with spock!!!!
The "Just Say No" episode. Y'all it ain't about social media, cell phones, or video games, it's about drugs and peer pressure, big topics for teenager focused episodes of TV shows back then.
I like how he blinks while they "force his eyes open". 😅
That moment when Star Trek accurately predicts the effects of social media
Touché
A young Ashley Judd. Hard to believe how many famous actors and actresses appeared in TNG episodes or movies when they were young.
Biggest surprise for me was Mick Fleetwood who played a fish alien delegate. He even shaved off his iconic beard just to play the role.
@@ronaldnelson6692 Yep, Worf still makes me life when he says, what a handsome race lol.
Yeah! Data to the rescue!!!!!
The one where data puts thousands of epileptic fans into seizures
Except me!Thank God I took my meds!Data got down with the EDM funk!😂
If the game involved kittens purring, they wouldve gotten the Entire Alpha Quadrant
I think this episode in a way predicts what's happening with people regarding smart phones and social media today

i'm watching tng videos and dont pay atenttion to nobody
I woulda gotten away with it, too! If it wasn't for those meddling kids.

TNG warned all these years ago from the dangers of free-to-play games... ;-)
0:24 When your mom comes home, and you pretend to be busy playing video games.
I always thought it was funny how Wesley blinked after they supposedly forced his eyes open.
3:58 "Good. Otherwise, it would have been neccessary for me to kill you and everyone else on board the Enterprise in an extremely graphic and visceral fashion."
We can't have anything that awesome, can we?
"I am sorry Captain, but I have no choice but to vivisect you, and the crew."
the show is just amazing
A Clockwork Orange
How addictive VR headsets will be in 10 years
My friend has a VR headset and we mostly play on it blades and sorcery, verry gun game to play
Hey, Wesley got to sit in the Captain’s chair!
This episode really looks like it was inspired by Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Once again Data saved the day
3:58 data ARE YOU ALRIGHT CAPTAIN ?
Picard WHY IS WESLEY SITTING IN MY CHAIR 😡
Does anyone else like the way he says Mr. Crusher?
Crusher? Hardly knew her. Boom.
A video game about putting discs in tubes. I’m surprised the whole crew didn’t die of boredom.
if i remember right, frakes was also fairly disappointed with the visuals

Riker dragged that game in after having sex with that woman.
It is digital STD. And he shared it with the whole crew.
Probably not the first time he brought something unwelcome back from Risa.
3:48 Picard should've said, "WESLEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY CHAIR?? WORF, GET HIM IN THE BRIG!!!!"
Is this "game" any different from people today who can't take their eyes from their smartphones and spend hours endlessly scrolling?

How did that thing manage to affect LaForge I wonder?
Direct interaction with his visor nodes probably.

This is TH-cam and TikTok
They say Wesley is still playing.
Looks like he really is IRL by his Twitter posts.
I didn't know that Nasty Woman Judd was in this.
If the game had been based on Tetris, Etana Jol would've controlled the whole of Starfleet.

Is that Ashley Judd?
It is indeed.
Yep!You can see why Wesley wanted a piece of that!
They would believe that this is just our days in 21 century at least for many.
Then you really need to get out and "touch grass" or whatever you kids are saying.
This is happening all over the country now, except it's cell phones.

This is alot like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. TNG was the only Star Trek that was good.
River didn’t have a great track record with the chics.
Young Ashley Judd, simply gorgeousness.
Not as much as Pamela Winslow though
That would give everyone male a woody and women...well u know

honestly one of the weaker episodes imo. i usually skip this one on rewatch. still a few good moments in it, though.
Yeah Ashely Judd before she went wacko.
No thanks to picard. The ship was saved by crusher and data.
