    I wish I would have 10% of Saives motivation at the table - that man is always on fire.

    Wonderful game with Saive, the ball of energy and Persson with an intriguing backhand motion

    Grubba was a touch player with a great backhand.
    It's remarkable that Saive is still playing over 25 years later.

    the game was so different back then

    • @ttCrawsaive
      @ttCrawsaive  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's not the same sport anymore...

    • @fragiquerence
      @fragiquerence 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      but it is NOT nessesarily bad, it's just different. Today you are able see way more longer rallys sometimes which is great and very entertaining, also it takes more physical power from players which raises game level. I cant say anything from pro player's point of view, simply because im just playing it for fun and at that level theres no such a difference; but the game is nice to watch now and im happy with that.

    • @Galimah
      @Galimah 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Arthur Alexeev i do agree with you but the game was more delicate back then, with smaller margins.

    • @teddanville6996
      @teddanville6996 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Galimah delicate? smaller margin? All you need to do back then is to put some heavy spin (of any type) on the ball and you already put so much pressure on to your opponent next shot. Now you need both. You need to hit hard while still making sure the ball is on the table, while inflicting heavy spin to handcuff your opponent. People who only play spinny balls can easily be counter attacked nowaday.

      Ball was smaller so by the mid 90s many players mastered the game and offense over-powered defense - rallies were therefore much shorter - games became boring by the 2000s so they increased the size of the ball.

    Saive used way more energy in this game. Waldner looked a little too relaxed.

    No one rocks the diaper shorts-look like Saive did. #diapershorts #it'sformobility
    Also, I never noticed till now that Saive jumps around and looks a little like Freddie Mercury.

      @@lildavey09 There was a period from 1993 WTTC to 1994 European Championships when he owned Waldner,no other European could make such claim.But from 1995 Europe Top 12 to 2001 WTTC Teams he was 1-9 versus Waldner.Waldner totally reversed the rivalry which demonstrates his strength and his resilience.

      @@lildavey09 In fact,Gatien who had always been Waldner's pidgeon (only important match he won against him was 1990 European Championship) and had many injuries after 1994 still could beat Waldner once in a while in less important tournaments but Saive didn't stand a chance.It was a matter of pride for Waldner after Saive said he was afraid of him.
