Thank you all for 1000 subs! It all started with FM mixes, so I hope you will enjoy this one! There are some stand-out tracks with great melodies and vibes. It generally takes a lot of editing to make the tracks hold together. This mix also features a new technique I discovered to create wow and flutter, and new types of intermittent static. Enjoy! Yes! Congrats in order! You create something rare and special on your channel. I wonder if you or anyone you know worked in FM or AM radio at one point? Great Idea to start your channel because it reminds me of what radio used to be. I can't' get anything like this on my AM or FM stations where I live in Southern California. Thanks! VaporjazzLounge to the rescue! 😀
Oh, I forgot to answer your question; I've always been interested in radio, I was even in "radio club" in high school, but mostly it's because of my age. lol. I turned 18 in 1980, so I have a lot of first hand recollections.
Thank you! I appreciate you more than I can say. I have some new ideas bouncing around in my head that I hope will help keep things interesting around here. I'm glad you're here for it!
so this is it? just ai from now on? the mixing is kind of interesting but not enough on its own, i mean vaporwave music was already vapid due to its roots, it can't really take another layer of dillution and not suffer alot
Some of the best mixes on this channel are crafted from AI samples, but this is a special-purpose channel with special needs. There simply isn't a sustainable quantity of human-made jazz out there that I can legally use in this manner.
What I mean by "best" is that some of my very favorite mixes, with the most compelling melodic hooks and sequences of music, that give me the most nostalgic vibes, are the ones I've crafted from AI samples. It's not like I'm just dropping AI tracks into my DAW and applying effects. AI rarely creates a "track" that isn't a hot mess. Most tracks in my mixes start with a 2 minute fragment, or maybe just 90 seconds sometimes, but some past mixes include fragments as short as 30 seconds that I edited into complete tracks. I'm the one making them into something that anyone would want to listen to more than once. I just wanted you to know more of what goes into this project because I would love you to appreciate what I do here, but if it's not to your tastes I totally understand.
@@VaporjazzLounge i really appreciate that you took the time to respond and explain, i don't get that often i also appreciate what you seem to want to do with the mixes on the channel, i think i get it. seems like you're experimenting with simulations of audio contexts, right? that's kind of cool actually, tho i'm not sure if it's really gonna stick in a meaningful way, in general. wish you luck with it tho, i'd be curious to see some interesting takes on this for sure! honestly, the way you describe you're using the AI to create tracks doesn't sound that bad, i acknowledge it's valuable that a human recognizes the pieces and bits that are good for using, without traditional effort, it's not like effort is THAT meaningful. heck, i'm sure some great sections or perhaps even musical motifs that lay the skeleton of a song can be found there, i'm sure! BUT! i'm not sure you're on the right path. i mean we're already at just track numbers for song titles. it's the least anyone can do. take a look at some post rock or dungeon synth albums for example, they are instrumental yet the titles of the songs already tell such a compelling story, it's great! here on the other hand.... just the title of the mix that gives a direction and contextualizes the mix, but the songs themselves are empty as can be. none has any individual vibe, they don't even feel like separate songs, they're just a sonic wash. i'd expect that if you used AI to generate ideas and put together the better ones that we'd have a lot more detail, actual more specific vibes or feelings to songs themselves. but these sounds haven't convinced me at all. the music feels like is not backing up your claims in that regard
Proud to say I was one of the first 10. Congratulations... here's to a thousand more 🥂
Me too! And I'm proud you're still here! Thanks for being part of this journey.
Getting some old school weather channel vibes. Love it.
Thanks! That's awesome! Here's one where I went all in on the Weather Channel vibes.

Thank you for such kind words! I love knowing that you appreciate what I do here for the same reasons I do it. That's everything I hope for.

Yo congrats! I'm so glad you kept it up for so long, I've never found such a unique channel on youtube and I look forward to another year!

@@VaporjazzLounge "sustainable"? why does it have to be sustained? what does "best mixes" mean?
@@morgredtheblack I want it to be sustainable, and that's all the reason I need. How long have you been listening?
