Like many of Ren's songs/videos this was filmed live. That's sorta his thing as his background is in street busking so playing live is second nature to him. He is finally recovering from serious complications caused by misdiagnosed Lyme Disease and the damage caused by years of the wrong medications. He's just finished a 2yrs stretch of stem cell treatment in the States and Canada and finally returned to the UK. He is totally independant no music industry breathing down his neck so can do as he pleases. He is self taught mainly from YT videos after spending 6 years stuck in his room due to autoimmune disease and psychosis due to the meds. Ren's mates are all part of his team and Samuel Perry-Falvey his main videographer has recently won various awards for his film making. finding Ren at this point in time is like finding the best TV-show you've seen in a long time and then noticing you got like 4 seasons to binge. Bring the popcorn and sit down man. Start from Episode one (Hi Ren, The Tales of Jenny&Screech, Fisher Remix, Love Music Pt1, Money Game Pt1) move along the highs of season 2(Sick Boi, Love Music Pt2-3, Money Game Pt2 Lyric Video, Genesis, Animal Flow, Chalk Outlines) grab a tissue for season 3 because that shit is emotional (Su!c!de, For Joe, Love Music Pt4, Seven Sins), find the x-mas special you missed(Dotta Diss Rap, Bittersweet Symphony, acoustic covers of other songs, busking) then put your foot on the gas and go season 4 crazy (Money Game Pt3, Sick Boi Taken Down Video, Kujo Beat Down) - not a real timeline but a great fucking time and order to listen.
While I generally agree, I think everyone’s Ren journey is unique. I don’t think there’s a wrong way to enjoy the Ren experience, other than not going deep enough, of course

Ive seen multiple people start with it, say wtf is going on what did i miss, this is too crazy, then start at hi ren make their way to animal flow then remember Kujo and think nah that aint crazy thats on point
Yes, Plan B is a real artist. He’s a UK rapper/singer. If you like storytelling then your next stop should be the Tale of Jenny & Screech. Don’t worry so much about backing up. It’s needed to keep the flow. If you ever need his lyrics they’re normally pinned in the comments.
May I suggest, you being a rapper, to get that itch scratched, you try ' the hunger' next. Then to the tale of jenny and screech tribology after. You will be fully hooked by then. Great reaction, we all come because we can't experience this song for the first time ever again.

@@Esca1010there are definitely two sets of camera shots - it’s impossible to get those close-up in-your-face shots without being literally in his face, which would clearly be visible in the alternating wider shots. But… 95+% of the video is from a single main take, and 100% of the audio is from that take. Mind-blowing stuff….

The only reason it is “most popular” is because it is like the front door to the REN rabbit hole. Obviously you could start on any song, but this broken fourth wall song, this deep connection he makes with you that first impression that he is crazy, then the realization that his struggle is so much starker, and darker. And then he becomes the personification of Hope. Everyone has struggles, I think we are ALL hurting more than we let other people know. At this point as far as I am concerned REN is my personal living saint, and lol I am agnostic. His words have saved so many, brought a light into our darkest pains. He is more than a singer, rapper, musician and poet. He is a bard and his words could well change the world. THIS is how a fragile butterfly can start a hurricane.

I saw this video at my lowest point, I´d given up dealing with my illness, distanced myself from my family and friends, all in preperation for not being here no more. That moment he stood up from the chair, I burst out in tears and decided I would stand up for myself, continue existing. It´s a struggle every day, but I cherish Ren for this awakening of mine, I still tear up seeing this performance, reviews of this performance. I truly believe art created from the heart has healing in it, this did so for my in any case.

I will say, one thing that is over looked because it is a hindsight thing with this song is the increased tension between the two mindsets. The darkness ramps up each time the light pushes back until the last section when his voice softens and he doesn’t interrupt and waits to give his words. It is a reflection of the end where he is talking to us directly and he even says he had to learn to do that. The light at the end became more fluid in words and emotions and eases the tension. It is absolutely insane how much talent Ren has and how uplifting he is while also being able to flex all these skills he has self taught. 1 take, live video? That is beyond insane! Ren is a very rare talent that comes into the world randomly. ❤

All the information here was gathered exclusively from sources Ren personally approved for public release. Ren is a Welsh independent artist/singer/songwriter/busker/producer, living in Brighton, UK. He plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, melodica, drums, cello), has impressive vocals, beatboxes, produces all his own beats, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. He is considered by many a modern-day bard; he once jokingly called his music "bardcore" and it stuck. Ren's music videos are frequently recorded live using a lavalier mic, often in a single take, although not necessarily the first take, and from various camera angles. In the case of the music video performance of "Hi Ren," it took four takes, all live in the room, to get the footage he wanted. Yep I’m subbing!! ❤ 🔥🔥🔥 .Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his adult life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease. He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too. Welcome to the wonderful world of Ren. The rabbit hole is deep and one hell of a ride. Ren is self taught in singing, rapping, guitar, bass, piano, producing, beatboxing, poetry, storytelling, one take live videos (yes this is one of them), video directing, breaks through genres and has the kindest soul. All while spending the last 14yrs fighting lyme disease with the first 7yrs being misdiagnosed and being practically bed bound in chronic pain. He is still not 100% but better than he was. Ren is a special human.

Like many of Ren's songs/videos this was filmed live. That's sorta his thing as his background is in street busking so playing live is second nature to him. He is finally recovering from serious complications caused by misdiagnosed Lyme Disease and the damage caused by years of the wrong medications. He's just finished a 2yrs stretch of stem cell treatment in the States and Canada and finally returned to the UK. He is totally independant no music industry breathing down his neck so can do as he pleases. He is self taught mainly from YT videos after spending 6 years stuck in his room due to autoimmune disease and psychosis due to the meds. Ren's mates are all part of his team and Samuel Perry-Falvey his main videographer has recently won various awards for his film making. This video was made in his mates basement :)

finding Ren at this point in time is like finding the best TV-show you've seen in a long time and then noticing you got like 4 seasons to binge. Bring the popcorn and sit down man. Start from Episode one (Hi Ren, The Tales of Jenny&Screech, Fisher Remix, Love Music Pt1, Money Game Pt1) move along the highs of season 2(Sick Boi, Love Music Pt2-3, Money Game Pt2 Lyric Video, Genesis, Animal Flow, Chalk Outlines) grab a tissue for season 3 because that shit is emotional (Su!c!de, For Joe, Love Music Pt4, Seven Sins), find the x-mas special you missed(Dotta Diss Rap, Bittersweet Symphony, acoustic covers of other songs, busking) then put your foot on the gas and go season 4 crazy (Money Game Pt3, Sick Boi Taken Down Video, Kujo Beat Down) - not a real timeline but a great fucking time and order to listen.
While I generally agree, I think everyone’s Ren journey is unique. I don’t think there’s a wrong way to enjoy the Ren experience, other than not going deep enough, of course

@@Esca1010there are definitely two sets of camera shots - it’s impossible to get those close-up in-your-face shots without being literally in his face, which would clearly be visible in the alternating wider shots. But… 95+% of the video is from a single main take, and 100% of the audio is from that take. Mind-blowing stuff….

I also want the reggae kings, soul masters, hip hop specialists, music theory psychologists just everybody to see, (not just see, SEE) what Ren is about. The only reason it is “most popular” is because it is like the front door to the REN rabbit hole. Obviously you could start on any song, but this broken fourth wall song, this deep connection he makes with you that first impression that he is crazy, then the realization that his struggle is so much starker, and darker. And then he becomes the personification of Hope. Everyone has struggles, I think we are ALL hurting more than we let other people know. At this point as far as I am concerned REN is my personal living saint, and lol I am agnostic. His words have saved so many, brought a light into our darkest pains. He is more than a singer, rapper, musician and poet. He is a bard and his words could well change the world. THIS is how a fragile butterfly can start a hurricane.

I saw this video at my lowest point, I´d given up dealing with my illness, distanced myself from my family and friends, all in preperation for not being here no more. That moment he stood up from the chair, I burst out in tears and decided I would stand up for myself, continue existing. It´s a struggle every day, but I cherish Ren for this awakening of mine, I still tear up seeing this performance, reviews of this performance. I truly believe art created from the heart has healing in it, this did so for my in any case.

I will say, one thing that is over looked because it is a hindsight thing with this song is the increased tension between the two mindsets. The darkness ramps up each time the light pushes back until the last section when his voice softens and he doesn’t interrupt and waits to give his words. It is a reflection of the end where he is talking to us directly and he even says he had to learn to do that. The light at the end became more fluid in words and emotions and eases the tension. It is absolutely insane how much talent Ren has and how uplifting he is while also being able to flex all these skills he has self taught. 1 take, live video? That is beyond insane! Ren is a very rare talent that comes into the world randomly. ❤

Ren is a Welsh independent artist/singer/songwriter/busker/producer, living in Brighton, UK. He plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, melodica, drums, cello), has impressive vocals, beatboxes, produces all his own beats, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. He is considered by many a modern-day bard; he once jokingly called his music "bardcore" and it stuck.
Ren's music videos are frequently recorded live using a lavalier mic, often in a single take, although not necessarily the first take, and from various camera angles. In the case of the music video performance of "Hi Ren," it took four takes, all live in the room, to get the footage he wanted. "Sick Boi," is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren" and appears to have been filmed in the same room. Ren also has a live version of “Hi Ren” that was recorded in front of an audience.
Ren has been creating great music for more than ten years. Many of Ren's songs resonate with people because he addresses struggles that many others face every day. Deservedly so, in October 2023, Ren album “Sick Boi” hit #1 on the UK Billboard album charts. Every RENegade should listen to this beautiful and moving poem/spoken word tribute to Ren's accomplishment of hitting #1 on the UK album charts. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, he began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures, which eventually caused him to discontinue his studies and return home. In addition, Ren was signed by Sony Records in 2010 and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point that he was unable to go on; consequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren would later relocate to Brighton.
Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure.
Ren has spend the last 1 ½ years in Calgary, Canada, undergoing treatment for Lyme Disease and other medical conditions brought on by the disease, such as Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, and adrenals as well as his bones/joints.

.Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell.
Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his adult life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease.
He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Ren. The rabbit hole is deep and one hell of a ride. Ren is self taught in singing, rapping, guitar, bass, piano, producing, beatboxing, poetry, storytelling, one take live videos (yes this is one of them), video directing, breaks through genres and has the kindest soul. All while spending the last 14yrs fighting lyme disease with the first 7yrs being misdiagnosed and being practically bed bound in chronic pain. He is still not 100% but better than he was. Ren is a special human.
The way Ren hooks everyone in with the last verse is incredible, never get bored of seeing it
I am so here for Ren and watching you experience all he has to offer. I wish I could see it again for the first time. The closest we can get is watching you guys do it. Thanks for sharing that. Was a great reaction.
