Thanks for taking us along, Alana. I was particularly drawn to what you said about the mall (I've never been to the Holy Land so I had no idea that there was a mall just beside the Holy Mosque) The words you used - "capitalist" and "materialistic" - to describe it perfectly captures the paradoxical nature of the two things. Unfortunately the custodian of the Mosque and city itself is the controversial Saudi royal family so there you go. 🤷 Also, don't feel bad if you weren't immediately moved to tears when you saw the kaabah for the first time. Everyone's going to have a different experience. Besides, it was only your first Umrah. InshaAllah if you ever get the opportunity to perform the Umrah again (or better yet the haj) it'll hit you differently. Anyhow... I'm really proud of you and hubs. And I'm so inspired by you to become an even better Muslim (and I'm a born Muslim!). May Allah bless and guide you and your loved ones always. ❤
I'm so impressed when you keep saying alhamdulilah, masyaAllah, insyaAllah.. To me, u have learnt very fast.. U can even explained to us your experienced performing umrah. So happy for you. Abbas, you are very lucky to have such a good & brilliant wife. Take good care of her. Teach her to be a good muslim. Syukur alhamdulilah.
My sister in Islam, God knows all languages. There is nothing wrong with praying for what is in your heart in your language. May God make religion easy for us. It is not a condition for prayer that you say it in Arabic. My greetings, your brother in Islam from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Umrah in Mekkah, KSA, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Alhamdullillah. Hope that you didn't forget to make all the right doa.
I also feel the same as what Alana felt when I took Umrah first. At the Prophet's Mosque I was sobbing and sobbing. But in Masjidilharam the atmosphere is very different. But that is God's test to test his servant's patience
Every hardship will be counted as a good deeds. Allah is the most acceptence! May Allah accept your Umrah. Terbaik Bro Abbas leading it! Alana is right, it's not a vacation trip, it has a mission which some people may be distracted away by other things. It is a spiritual trip.
I always tell everyone to be mindful of the activities as they are physically taxing. Usually it is better to perform your Umrah first and then go to Madina, but everyone to their own. When I'd performed my Hajj, I used to tell people that I really enjoyed it, and they were like you're the first one to say so. Partly because I was young back then (2009), and partly because I did not rush into things too much. I used to read a lot so tried to imagine things how they were 1400 years ago, looking at those places/landmarks. Taking the train to/from Macca is much better, and much expensive, than road travel. I'm glad that you share your experience honestly as-it-is.
Alhamdulillah you finally performed you first umrah..May Allah grants your doa.Yes perform umrah indeed very tiring.. but InsyaAllah Allah knows our intention
There is no words for me to explain this ws my second time the first o went on Haj in 1998 ws there for spend exactly 60 days there so went now again wanna go back in Sha Allah ws very peaceful in Madinah an packed in Makkah ws also very emotional for me in Makkah an exciting at the same time very tiring but kept on going I also got sick algamdulilah but did my best Allah knows our hearts hoping to go back in Sha Allah
The best you can is what's ALLAH swt want. Alhamdulillah. Congratulations Alana for your first umrah. May ALLAH granted you and all muslim umrah mabrur. Aamiin Rabbal Alamiin
Tears flowing down, I miss being there again. Wonderful experience when I got to Mecca as well. Alhamdulillah, with Allah’s will and the best of providers, I got to experience Multazam. The best experience ever, and I made a very long du’a there. Alhamdulillah 🥺 When I arrived in Madinah, a different feeling in my head kept saying, "I am here, soon to enter Raudhah, and I will meet the most loving people." It was great, but unfortunately I felt sick and couldn't pray much at the mosque. Mixed feelings, but I know that Allah will invite me again to be a better person in good condition and health. Now, I’m excitedly waiting for Allah to call me to be there again. May Allah invite all of us to be there, to experience and feel His infinity love 🥺
Hope you have a great life and paradise in after life and all of Muslims around the world Ameen you really give a great energy my sister my love and respect from Yemen and Saudi Arabia God save your life and bless you 🌹🌹

Assalamualaikum Alana. Hi.... I am proud that you put an effort to complete your umrah journey. Besides just a 1 year old being a new reverted as a Muslim. Anyway, alhamdulillah you managed to go through it. It's okay Alana. You are just a new revert, so just take one step at a time. If you want to know and understand more about Islam. I suggest you to attend yourself in a fardhu ain class. You may ask your husband. Take one step at a time at your pace. For a new revert, Islam is not about completing all your ibadah. NO. Islam is about understand and straighten your akidah. Akidah is the keyword for all the ibadah you may learn and perform one after another. I hope my two cent advice and suggestion would help you in your journey as a new Muslim. All the best to you and I doa for you and husband granted husnul hotimah and meet till Jannah.. Aamin..
