    I bought one of these off ebay after i seen the first video. After this one I'm gonna stick to the TRX chassis. I won't use the capability it has but I'll feel better knowing it's there.

      The TRX is a great option too!

    Very nice, I dig it, the rails actually don’t bother me at all. Thank you for the GREAT explanation.

      Appreciate that, I tried to be thorough. I just put covers on the rails and it looks stealth now.

    I saw the first video, I am waiting for my NWSD chassis to arrive. While waiting I looked at other chassis options and think I have a pretty good one, FMS 1/6 Jimney was on sale for $179 and is a RTR so no need to purchase axles or ANY other electronics. The wheelbase is almost perfect(1 or 2MM difference) I get the swing away body is easier to work on, but $250 might be steep considering what else you will need. I will share my results when I have both of them up and running. Thanks RC review, love the channel.

    The chassis would drive me nuts honestly.
    Better to just build one, cut and weld.

      @@robertlast4546 I do… it’s so simple, cut a very small hole for the tranny/motor and bolts right up to the floor of the Winnie.

    Painting the rails black would help with the looks a lot.
    Can you put springs on the shocks as well as the leafs? And double shocks would help with the bouncing.
    I think the 4.5s are too big for it.
    I don’t really see chasing performance with something like this. It’s just something rad looking that makes people smile 😊
    Cool project!

      You're right, there is something special about this build. I just bolted black plastic sheets on the chassis rails to cover and it looks awesome now.

  • @PachezZ

    that low hanging chassis is such an eyesore... low profile gearbox and flat rails from hardware store would do just fine and would look better.

  • @modzilla74
    @modzilla74 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Should tub the body, make it rear drive and make it a dragster dumped to the ground. Would look cool af at least.. still a cool rig to make an rc regardless. 'Rc everydays' winnie looks proper. Slammed with duallies

    You might try 3D printing inserts for the tires. You can adjust the stiffness with the design and filament of the print, plus the tires won’t “roll under” when cornering and/or on a side hill.

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@RCReviewChannel I’m looking for a decent Tonka to build one of my own. My plan is to use a Redcat Wendigo transfer case and a planetary transmission so I can tuck the frame up under the body. I plan on TRX-4 axles with portal deletes so I can use the switchable lockers.

  • @RCAdventurers
    @RCAdventurers 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Such a shame about the chassis being so low, completely detracts from realism looks, it would have been better using a flat chassis and using say a VFD or TRX transmission opposed to an old 3 gear SCX type gearbox, the chassis rails would put me off ever building one sadly. The chassis manufacturer should have designed this with that in mind, using a low profile tranny.

    A real bait and switch with this one. Shared the chassis on the first video without knowing it looked like that. A bunch of people bought something that they are gonna be upset about. It doesn’t look good or scale with the chassis hanging that low. I gave a real 1:1 Winnebago away to my wife’s dad 2years ago and it didn’t look like that. Hope the guy made a bunch of money off an item people are going to be disappointed with

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Your comment was well received until the 'bait and switch' video. The chassis was unpacked, photographed, and set up by the Winnebago body. A couple of Winnebagos with this chassis were also featured in the first video. Subsequent footage showed it being mounted while waiting on parts.
      So sharing as I learn and build and if you buy it by making assumptions on what it's finally gonna look like, that's on you. Take a couple minutes and Google the chassis at least and stay away from the blame/flame game.

      @@RCReviewChannel you got a free chassis and got to help someone make a bunch of money. Not saying it’s a bad thing just a bad design. People rely on others experiences and information they are sharing so yeah I do feel it was a bait and switch. If you can’t see it I’m sorry for being so simple
