    I saw Roy at a concert in 1980…. Iconic would be a understatement. He controlled everything. It was a short concert but powerful, he gave everything he had. People were overwhelmed with emotion.

    He was the most wonderful singer i have ever known, his voice made you listen and appreciate his singing, sent shivers down your spine when he reached high notes. He was wonderful and is sadly missed, he died too young.

    I adored Roy, and still enjoy his music. Truly beautiful voice and music. Sad when I think we lost him so young.

      I listen to Roy quite frequently. I go to TH-cam and play his music on my tv. I Love his tenderness. He was a beautiful soul of a man

    Roy gave us such a gift. He gave his music his everything. Listening to his voice is like unwrapping a present that never ends.

    He had the voice for story telling and always seemed genuinely happy and grateful for everything he got to do and accomplish. What an awesome guy.

    I discovered roy around the time of his death sadly. I was aware of him but when the travelling wilburys and the song "you got it" hit, i was really blown away by his voice and talent

    Great interview. Thanks to the interviewer for focusing on the music--the early stuff in particular. Roy is very well-spoken. He chooses his words carefully and speaks proper English.

    Elvis said Roy had the best voice ..How Blessed we were to have 2 of the Greatest voice's ever & still to this day no one can even come close to either one them.thank you Roy for all the beautiful music with your beautiful amazing voice. still the greatest music forever 8-25-22.

    I miss Roy Orbison. He was too young to die. We were not ready for him to go because he had beautiful voices and beautiful family. I do love him because of his beautiful voices and my heart was throbbing. I was dreaming about him. He is gone. Rest In Peace! ♥️♥️♥️😘😘😘😢😢😢

      @James Henderson Sad but true. I feel angry whenever I see him in a picture with a cigarette in hand. Such a waste. I HATE cigarettes - lost some loved ones to smoking.

      I don't think he tried to kill himself because he had a lot of stressful issues. He worked so hard for everybody in the world. If he tried to kill himself he should have overdosed on drugs or kill himself with guns but not that it. He had lot of stressful.

      @@brendajohnson3120 He had a very bad diet / he ate to much sugar and smoked 2 packs aday . I think food and sugar was his drug of choice .

      @@joleerinehardt2676 That, and also, lately, I had a theory that maybe Roy had Deep Vein Thrombosis, where from sitting too long, a clot forms then breaks off, going to the heart. Just my opinion. He had been traveling a few days before he died.

    Roy, other than Elvis, seemed to be able to tell dates, years and happenings from the past quite accurately and in the right context.

    Roy lived not far from where I lived in West Texas. Roy in Wink, not much in Wink then or now, me in big fity of Brownfield. Buddy was just 40 mi away in Lubbock. Gary P Nunn was tight there in Brownfield! Great local music eh? I was just a kid then! Miss those days.

    0:18-0:25 smoker cough i read that he smoked 80 a day from the early 50s to 1977 when he had a heart surgery at age 41 he then went down to 30-40 a day he was a fool for not qutting smoking and eating healthy food but we do have his music to enjoy

      Each state has its own drawl. Alabama being the thickest accent. Texans speak faster and it's not as deep.

      It's a distinct accent common to Northwest Texas where Roy was from and Western Oklahoma. It is definitely a form of Southern US English, just not the most stereotypical one.

    Just so annoyed that post Mystery Girl he really was on the cusp of being re-appreciated and it got cut short. I really think had he lived another 5 or 10 (hell now) he’d have ruled. Roy would have slaughtered Glastonbury.
