Are You Ready For The Rapture?

This message was delivered in the morning service on June 16, 2024.
Primary Text: Luke 12:35-37
Supporting Text: 1 Th. 4:13-18; Acts 1:10-11; Mat. 24:40-41
The birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was foretold thousands of years before it was fulfilled in every minute detail. He Himself fulfills at least 109 separate and distinct prophecies that prove He is the Messiah.
In the 4 gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we find that Jesus prophesied 170 different events to come. Now, more than 2000 years later, many of these prophecies have been fulfilled. There is simply no reason why we should believe that those prophecies that relate to future events, things yet to come, will not happen.
The signs of those times are everywhere, and the day and the time is drawing close when up in Heaven God will say “it is time,” and Gabriel’s trumpet will sound announcing that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming to earth again.
-Is it practical to know that Jesus is coming again?
-You are a group of people with all sorts of interests and hobbies. You have different family lives and different cultures and personalities. You have different talents.
-But one very important thing we share in common: All of us need to be prepared for Jesus to come back, because we know he’s coming, but we have no idea how much time we’ve got.
- If you pass up this opportunity to make things right with God, what excuse will you have left?
-It is an encouraging thing to be a Christian and to know that every hour of every day, no matter what happens, I’m one hour closer to seeing my savior face to face.
Are you ready to meet your Creator? Are you ready for the Second Coming of Christ? Have you built your house upon the solid rock? Is the Holy Spirit dealing with you and tugging at the strings of your heart?
I don’t imagine that what we’ve talked about this morning is something you’ve never heard about before.
-But Christ has given us his Word. And you can bet he’ll keep his word. He is coming. When he comes, as Paul tells us, we’ll hear the thunderous voice of the archangel. The dead in Christ will rise, and those of us who are Christians will meet our loved ones in the air.
