I understand what he is saying about pulling yourself out of a spiritual experience..that’s where I am about a year and a half into totally falling in love with Jesus. I will start to experience Him in a supernatural experience and I will freak out and get too excited and boom I come out of it. It’s super frustrating.
I was in a Todd White meeting when Brian Guerin preached, the entire room was engulfed in the presence of God everyone was on a high after he grabbed the mic - all we wanted to do was gain a better understanding of intimacy with Jesus, he understands relationship on a high level he’s humble, gracious and codependent completely on Jesus - we should all strive to know God in this way, I went home and repented but I’ve also been diligent on developing more intimacy with God since that meeting, Holy Spirit has been most gracious to meet me - awesome men of God directing us completely to dependence on intimacy

I'm still confused. When you close your eyes, are you picturing Jesus in your mind's eye? I mean, we don't know what he looks like, so how can you conjure up an image of him? Is that considered making a graven image of God? And when you meditate, what do you meditate on? What do you think about? I really don't understand.
+IronGod1640 You don't have to picture Him or try to picture Him in a sense of like a physical picture. Every son of God is Holy Spirit led and I don't think Holy Spirit does the same thing for everyone. Sometimes pictures of Jesus' sweet countenance comes to my mind, but other times I don't have to try to physically picture Him because I know He lives inside of me, so I meditate on Him being inside of me and in Romans it says that we are one spirit with Him. And when I meditate, the first thing I have to think about is being a son of The Living God. As I meditate on this spiritual truth, it comes with the package of forgiven, loved, and other spiritual truths that bring life to me and set me free from the bondage that the enemy tries to throw at my dome. +IronGod1640 What works well for me is bearing this verse in mind; Ps. 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. Also Ps. 22:3 states that He is enthroned in our praises. So I meditate on all the things He does for me every day with thanksgiving and praise. This fills my heart with His Spirit and draws me into His presence faster than anything I know of. Bless you in your pursuit of God's face.
It's s personal relationship, you have to find what works with you and him. I don't like when they say this is what you should do. It's all your relationship with Jesus. And there are so many ways to enter in. Heaven wants you with him so he creates simplicity...
