    suggest dump dye powder in first through funnel then pour liquid urea water through funnel (capture powder stuck to wet spots). That is how I used to mix mine before switching to silicone cups (don't like to deal with floaters)

    I’ve found your videos to be so helpful! I recently purchased Glauber’s Salt from Dharma. Do you think it is necessary for some colors?

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad you are finding things useful. I can’t speak on Glauber’s salt because I have never used it. For tie dye, I don’t think it’s necessary, as my outcome is always really vibrant without it. I do think for some types of fabrics it might be necessary. T-shirts, not so much. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help. ☺️❤️😂

      I haven’t. Take note that this is my small batch recipe. This is the standard instructions for mixing Dharma’s dye.
      Here is the link to the instructions for mixing pro chem dyes. It looks similar to Dharma’s instructions. prochemicalanddye.net/downloads/dl/file/id/111/product/0/tie_dye_using_pro_mx_directions.pdf
      Best of luck! ❤️🌈

    Thanks for the tips. How long do you keep your dye before you throw it out? Over 60 dyes at one time!? How cool. I wish I could do that. I’m jealous! Just kidding, cool for you.

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I try to make small amounts and use it up right away. I don’t mix my dye with soda ash so I think it lasts a little while. I’ve had dye around a week and the results were still vibrant, however I don’t think that’s recommended. I’m still working on all the new dye swatches. ❤️🌈

    What ink of Procion mx Fiber dyes did.... you used them for like 2 ozs or 8 ozs. Where did you get these 16 ounces bottles from??

      I use Dharma Trading Company dyes. This recipe is for 1 shirt or swatching out your colors. 1/4 cup of water. It’s been a long time… gosh, I hope I explained it in the tutorial 🤷‍♀️❤️🌈

    What if I want to do a big batch? Is there a video for that?

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I follow Dharma’s recipe because I use their dyes. It’s 1 cup water to 2 tsp powder dye. * 4tsp dye, ** 8tsp dye. I don’t have a tutorial for that but I will make one. ❤️🌈

    Do you need to use ureates? I didn’t get any wondering if I should before doing my batch?

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not 100% necessary. Urea is a wetting agent. It also helps some stubborn dyes dissolve. It is not needed as long as you keep your item well covered so it doesn’t dry out. Once the item drys out the chemical reaction of the soda ash and dye stops. ❤️🌈
