Introducing The LiteTackle II | An Origin Story

- In Ontario Canada, Georgian bay is home to some 30,000 islands dotting a granite shoreline in the clear, turquoise water. The windswept pines that are rooted here serve as a natural compass-their branches steadfastly reaching toward the East. This is where it all began for James Derbecker, owner and founder of Crescent Kayaks. He grew up spending summers on the water here, inspiring his love for paddling and nature. These islands have shaped what Crescent is today. These islands are our origin story.
The LiteTackle II officially launches Wednesday, October 19, 2022. To find a LiteTackle II Dealer near you, check out our dealer locator:

The amount of care you put into these videos speaks volumes about your passion for your brand and getting people on the water. I know I can trust that the same level of care goes into the boats you produce and I am proud to be a Crescent owner.
Thanks for the kind words- glad that sentiment shines through!
Absolutely nuts!!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing the space.
Well, I have a new goal (LTII + 100miles into Canada)! Thanks again James🥳
Wonderful narrative! So cool to see a gen II come out, can't wait to see more details. Also very encouraging to see kayak camping so prominent in the story!
Heck yeah man, thanks! We're all about the adventure and camping is a huge part of the culture here.
@@crescent-kayaks love to hear that. Kayak camping has been our favorite way to experience the outdoors!
Wow what a beautiful waterway. So much exposed bedrock to explore.!
I’ve been following Crescent Kayaks for years now. I really love the designs and care of detail that goes into them. Unfortunately I live in San Diego and the closest dealer is a 10 hour drive one way. 😢
This video may have been the final straw though… I may make the trip this summer to get one. Great job on the video. It brings peace to my soul just watching it.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Just drove back up to the Bay yesterday and was reflecting on the trip for the LT2 launch. Happy to hear you connected with it!
I have had my Lite tackle for 2 years now and it is the best fishing kayak I have ever owned. They are stable in some pretty rough water and quality of these boats are second to none. If they build one with a cup holder only then might I think about a new one.
We’ve got you covered brother. Stoked to hear the kayak has been good to you!
Awesome!
Thanks Joel!
👏🏼
Great video James! Best paddlers fishing kayak just got better. Can't wait to get the sequel on the water's of Georgian Bay and Muskoka
We were trying to figure out how to stop by the shop but had to get a guy on a 8am flight out of TO
Just bought the lite tackle like couple weeks ago so haven't had on water yet but feeling like it could be the one kayak that does it all for me and this video makes me feel even cooler about owning one 😎
I do a lot of kayak camping and some fishing in my ck1 and love it. With this LiteTackle 2 I do wish that center piece by the feet was not their and more open with just a flat wall like the ck1 and shoalie. Helps with placing a smaller cooler in front by the feet BUT this is amazing and will most likely be my next crescent. This is the most complete all around kayak I have seen and can't tell you how important those simple cup holders are. You took the best of the lite tackle and added just enough shoalie features without going to far as a dedicated fishing kayak. Love that color how it seems to change as well 🔥😎
Awesome shots james!
That’s my area for sure but Scott and Justin with the film work! Super proud the whole video was done in house including editing.
Can you install a rudder on the crescent lite tackle 2?
Been waiting on this. Loved seeing the building when I picked up my LT. Now for this.
oh wow so cool ! well dang iv already ordered the other one and a shoalie! just waiting to get them!
Great production
What a journey. So proud of what you’ve accomplished so far.
Thank you! It certainly has been an adventure lol
Priorities.
Great story telling!!! Love the history of the company, the kayak, and there person behind it all!!
Nice sneak peeks at some features too!!
Love the little ways you show some features without highlighting them, always teasing!
Looking forward to the walkthrough!!
Many paddlers are going to be really happy with the improvements to the LT II
Is that a new color??
Yes, new color! Be available across the 2023 line
@@crescent-kayaks WooHoo!! I thought it was a bit different, I like it!!
Great story and an example of what can be done with a top of the market kayak. I’m ready to pack up and hit the water!
I have a LiteTackle wife has the UltraLite. Best paddling and fishing kayaks.👍
Nice! Looking forward to checking it out. That’s a beautiful place!
Good stuff James!
I was wondering ever since the release of the Shoalie, if that cam buckle strap for the seat would be available for the existing Lite Tackle and the CK-1.. This is currently a weak link in the seat design even after trying some of the suggestions on various TH-cam Channels addressing this issue.
Glad we checked that box for ya!
@@crescent-kayaks I look forward to seeing retro kits available for the LT & CK-1 on your website available for purchase. I'd likely wait until one of you special sales to go into effect unless the initial offering has a discount.
Is it lighter than 74 pounds?
Launch and full specs 10/19
@@crescent-kayaks I haven't been able to make up my mind between the CK1 and LT... this one looks like a perfect hybrid of both. Being a GA boy, I won't buy any other brand. Look forward to buying this and incorporating it on my future adventures & channel!
Maybe you should actually INTRODUCE THE KAYAK? I mean how hard is it to show the product and give some specs? 5 minutes of a nature show and weird cooking.... I mean come on...
There’s a complete walkthrough video that has all of that 👍
