Hi dear grandma, thank you for sharing about the three sisters. And how to plant them. I think it's very healthy food too. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience! It I s a blessing for everyone to hear the truth. And learn good ways. I look forward to your next video! I send love and blessing to you and grandpa and all! Happy Father's day! Be blessed! Much love and peace! Ruth 💖 💖 💖
Thank you Ruth. Its always good to hear from you and also for your kind words for Grandpa. We had a good Father's day. Went to the park and I made my Navajo Spam sandwich gpa ordered. I have to admit it was more than delicious. Hope you had a wonderful day. I also love FLAG DAY, SO BEAUTIFUL. Hugs. Navajo Grandma
I will start to plant the corn first as you suggested. That makes a lot of sense, rather than planting them all at once. Corn only get ten percent of its nutrients from the ground, the rest it pulls out of the air, largely nitrogen. It doesn’t store the nitrogen well, but legumes like beans have risomes (sp?) on their roots that store nitrogen and fix it into the soil. All that goes away if it dries out or gets too hot, so those big squash leaves are great fast growing shade for the breast-like mound nursing us like the mother she is🙏🏻
Well hello there and WELCOME!! I always say, "come sit next to Navajo Grandma, watch, listen, learn and comment. There is much to learn this summer and now we are learning how to plant the 3 Sisters garden. No one knew it was sequence planting and only learned to plant in sequence. It is fun to learn. Hugs. WELCOME!!! Navajo Grandma
I planted native seeds from my grandpa and grandma’s tribes. They were sent to me from an organization encouraging indigenous peoples to grow native foods. We are taught the three sisters method too! I planted multicolor Rarámuri corn and beans. I’m also growing squash. Thank you for a great video❤
Well for traveling and drawing, sketching in a hotel, we all did very well together. Thank you for watching and being so receptive. I love this. Navajo Grandma
I bet your garden is ready and the cows are milked, the cream on the milk is on the mush with blueberry muffins from wild blueberries you picked, as you are an amazing woman. We're just trying to teach how to plant 3 sisters. Way behind you woman. Navajo Grandma
@@NavajoGrandma im way behind you Grandma.lol..Won't have milk till mid sept. Garden just got put in.. but herbs are plentiful for teas, salves tinctures ect. Feeling blessed 💚💙💜🤎 You always brighten my day when i hear from you.
😂 I tried this last year, but I didn’t know you were supposed to stagger the planting, I planted all 3 at once and it did not work out well at all 🤦🏽♀️ I’m so glad i seen this I will give it a try again this year the right way ❤️
Good evening my dearest friend, love this video and your drawings are so amazing and your penmanship so lovely. That's so special your teaching about the 3 sisters planting. You've been in my thoughts & heart. I've been burning the candle at both ends! Hope your travels are going well. Love & hugs , your Susan 😘😘❤️🌹
Hi my dearest Susan!!! Pretty girl!!! Yes we are also burning candles on both ends too. Did whats his name come yet? We went thru the USA again all the way to Maine, Florida, out ran 3 tornadoes in Texas, went to New Mexico way down south. On and on. I sent you a text to make 4 dozens brucetti for me. My money is burning in my pocket. We so enjoy your wonderful baked goods. We were headed to OK then things changed. For now we are going to NM then back. After that when gpa is ready we are headed there again. I will give you a heads up. Isn't it wonderful that we are worn out and doing the world good. What is it like to sit in a rocking chair -- I want none of that. I can sit for a spell then up I go to put out fires or to research, etc and etc. Glad we are busy bees. I will let you know pretty girl. Love you so always you are in our prayers. Hugs to you Gma
I love to talk to my "babies" (flowers), too! They are made with God’s love so must respond to our love, as well. Sometimes I imagine they have little smiling faces. 🤭
You are angelic! You have such a loving faith filled spirit!! To talk to, to see the flowers smiling is beautiful. A friend of mine died, came back talked about flowers along the path of a gorgeous meadow he walked thru. The flowers nodded & asked him if they had brought beauty & joy to him, they talked, he answered yes you brought unmeasurable beauty beyond expression. They were filled with Godly joy he said as they said with gratitude bringing joy & beauty is their true measure of their creation. They bowed & beamed with joy. Thus I always thank all flowers for bringing my soul, spirit & eyes and smell the glory of heavenly beauty with joy & gratitude. I have been made aware they do hear you, they rejoice with more beauty. Tho they wilt & die they anxiously return. God is heavenly with His marvelous creations for us. You are His creation too. Thank you for being here & sharing your beauty and the measure of your creation too.❤️ Navajo Grandma
Thank you so much for sharing this with me! That's amazing and something people need to know what to expect when they go to heaven. So many people, even when they believe in God and Jesus, are afraid to leave this world, not knowing how wonderful it will be there. I know part of that fear is in leaving loved ones behind, but after losing 3 close family members within three years very recently, all three have been seen or heard from by several family members and they are very happy and actively working on the other side. And now it feels for me, when someone leaves, they are just right there, not forever far away, but like they are just in a city nearby on vacation. This has helped me a lot with the concept of death. To be happy for them and know it's not long until we'll all be together again. I'm going to share your friends experience with my family and others. They will really be glad to add it to our stash of experiences God has shown people to give us strength and understanding of His love.
I love this. I grew some hopi pink corn last year, and it was so wonderful. They really do seem like people. They really like it when you spend time with them.
this is wonderful i'm writing a middle grade novel the 10 year old visits a Navajo farming family that live in Indiana this will be a good thing to include thank you
Grandma, for how long do you soak the corn seeds, and do you also soak the bean and squash seeds? Also does it matter what type of beans and squash you plant? By the way you did a great job with the drawings and I appreciate that you have advised to talk to and pray for the seeds. It awakens the need for us to be aware of our connection with God and His creation.
Ya'at'eeh. You should also mention that the mounds should be planted in a square. For example, four mounds by four mounds. Or 6 mounds by 6 mounds because the corn is pollinated by the wind and not by pollinators. ❤ May you walk in beauty.
oh I love this, my mom laughs at me because i talk to my plants, i tell them “Grow beautifully, and be healthy, Thrive” and I will say look how beautiful you are you are growing so well. then I first started growing, I believed i had a black thumb because all my plants in the past died, and I started Trusting God to provide from the seeds I plant and thanking Him for a harvest, and remembering that we are the Body of Christ and He brings forth life so our hands bring forth life. so I appreciate so much you sharing this at the end ❤
Such goodness shared. These plants are live elements created by God. They do hear and feel your spirit & heart. So true. Happy you talk to ur plants. Well said. Navajo Grandma
Good morning. I've placed some special videos under the playlist titled Ingenious Indigenous peoples I believe you will enjoy. Some of the true Stars and a special one regarding tree's. Not every perception while sifting through the mysteries of God are accurate so use your own discernment. 🙂
