Great video as always Cat! What about parameters? Could an OnPC backup hold parameters if you lose your desk? How many time? Is limited to 4k parameters? Thanks!
Hey Jou! Although I haven't experienced it myself, I've been told that if you lose a console with a higher parameter count than your backup desk, that the backup desk should be fine to take over that higher parameter count (as long as it was in session with the higher parameter console when that console goes down). I don't know if this is documented anywhere- so the best way to get a firm answer is to ask your MA distributor's tech support department. I'm a big fan of having NPUs handle all of the calculation (and having backup NPUs)... but I know that's not always an option.
@@consoletrainer I prefer NPUs too, but many times production offers me only a desk without backup or NPU, so I use my own system (OnPC+NSP+APC40+20 controllers) as backup (sometimes as main, when they put only an ultralight 😅) but I have this doubt cause never need to use backup 🤞. I'll try it on checks next time I do a gig (in 2022 I think 😓). Thanks Cat!

I thought the onpc setup needed to have the same amount of parameters of your console in order to take over and continue the show
