Of course when you pay a carpenter 50 dollars/hr thats what happens. Construction guys should be paid close to mjn wage and university degree job should be paid the highest so that education is appreciated
535k to live in a Styrofoam built house so narrow you cant fit a bed in the bedrooms. To park your car where exactly? on the road? building like this should be illegal. Not to mention your stuck in edmonton
That cute lady forgot to tell you that soon, you’ll have neighbours 6 feet on each side of that home-and remember, you can't choose whether they turn out to be good or bad. That house is designed solely to maximize the contractors' profit, with little else in mind. None of the people who design and build these 'chicken coops' would ever buy or live in them.
Reminds me of the shotgun houses in the southern states that the slaves lived in. No yard, no privacy, and should be priced around $250 k. Sad to see people are being forced to live in places like this and that developers are allowed to build these kind of communities. You might as well just live in an apartment since these are just glorified row housing. These will be future ghettos .
Small house, entry level for new family. However, from personal experience, a kitchen placed at the bottom of the stairs would help bring all the food into bedrooms...the smell of it!
You need a family income of around 160k /yr to afford this house. This small house is not solving any housing shortages. The price is ridiculous. This house should be under 350k. Canada has lots of land why do we want to build this kind of detached house. Why not just build an apartment building.
That's why cdn builders give the bare minimum. It snows u have to walk outside to get to your cae. It rains you have to get wet to get into your car. It's 2024. Homes should mandatory come with attached garage, a pantry, a laundry room not a cloaet for a laundry geesh. These homes are built cheaply atleast have good features. I also notice most of these homes she showcases have narrow hallways n staircase. You literally have to move furniture through the window.
It's inconvenient. All your friends will live in the city. You will live on the other side of thd planet as far as they are concerned. It'll take you 20 to 30 minutes longer to get anywhere. I know this because I'm in Devon. Being this far away from stuff is super frustrating. I personally hate it. I can't get people out here to visit me because it's 20 minutes outside the city, it takes soooo long to get to.
So, you will embark on a lifelong mortgage journey of more than half a million because your friends live in the city? Im 47, i have 2 friends, and they absolutely do not influence my financial decisions.
@amandabeaty1492 I'm in west edmonton. I can get to Devon faster than I can get to my friends who live on any other side of this city. If your friends aren't visiting, distance and time is definitely not the issue. Plus you have a nice area by the river, with a beach area I actually spend alot of time at by the boat launch, and you're closer to very popular lakes that aren't too far south of you. I don't think your location is inconvenient at all. Maybe just how you view it. And in terms of distance, most people commute alot further for work. I know people from Morinville, and Camrose, and stony plain who work in Edmonton. You're way closer!!
@larryhouse3776 I sew. If I want thread I have to go into Leduc or the city. Today we had to take our dog to the vet. We had to go into the city. I take Irish lessons af the Irish Club on 125 street 126 Ave. It takes 40 minutes to get there. My commute to work was 40 minutes and cost me $100 a week in gas just going to and from work. There's no indoor pool here. I'm 25 minutes from about 3 different rec centres instead of being a 5 minute drive. It's a pain in the arse.
Perfect house for Gen zers who spend all day on an electronic device and don’t know how to do yard work.. They built houses like that 100 years ago. Are we really going back?
I live in an attached duplex starter home that is wider than this. The design theme for this featured home should be summed up in a single word: cramped. It is painfully obvious with its exterior, and it truly gives the interior that "walls are closing in" feeling. I'd rather spend that $533K on a better starter home that doesn't have that shipping container feel to it.
It is a shame what happened to our housing market in Canada. Wow what a trash home for good money . Honey, I'm gonna poop in the kitchen from now on so we can all enjoy my roses mixed with our amazing dinner 😂
Just the detached garage alone would be a solid no for me. Who wants to walk that far to go to and from your car (especially during winter). Or if your garbage and recycling bins are there, you have to walk back and forth from the house? Not for me. But the house itself is beautiful.
Omg that is luxury… uge lot views to the moon and stacked like 2 containers that fell off a ship into the atlantic… all fer jest half a mill plus tax..
Everything is very nice except that wet bath. Why would someone want a tub in a shower? Everytime you shower you’ll have to clean that whole room including the tub. Yah, NO!
Your videos are great but talking throughout the videos is just really annoying. You clearly don't write your line before and you just improvise, which again is not done well. Just walk through the house with simple music. We all know what a kitchen, living room, and bathroom looks like. Please either practice your lines before or just do a walk-through without talking!
Who can afford that? $3000+ month mortgage! Most college educated or licensed trades people home $1700-2200 a pay. So at the end of the month you might have $800 left for insurance, property tax , vehicle payment, food, etc The math ant mathin And the house looks like something a kid made in Roblox lol What a joke even the immigrants are leaving Canada is broken
2nd largest country in the world and we are building homes like we live in Japan. Not to mention the prices of homes in Canada are so hyper inflated.
Of course when you pay a carpenter 50 dollars/hr thats what happens. Construction guys should be paid close to mjn wage and university degree job should be paid the highest so that education is appreciated
At least that is how it works outside Canada where housing and homelessness and drugs is not a problem
House prices are ridiculously high in Canada now
It’s a good price. We just need to move this house to Vancouver.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Half a mil in fkin Deadmonton?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Tripple that price in Ontario for a similar one
Same lot and house in south Barrie Ont. They call them Multi Generation design.
@@TheSpyder699 does come with the oil fuels in the air

Nicely presented Britt, good job.
Proper exhaust fan in kitchen is necessity. Microwave fan circulates back to the house.
No, it is vented to the exterior. OTR microwaves vent outside

6:33 in the basement, why do pipes go through wooden beams on the ceiling, is it safety?
Dropping the plumbing results in bulkheads.
Is the quoted price for the exact home as shown, or is it plus upgrades?

Looks like they're building one across the street.
Why would i buy a home without a garage attached, especially when you will need a car. There is enough land space.
Winter are brutal. You don’t want to spend 1 hours removing snow
At least it has a garage

Will there be a fence in the back yard or the potential buyers have to do the fence themselves ?
Beautiful nice home.
Not even double sink in the main washroom after paying over half a mill for a cookie cutter home.
How much would this rent for?
Crazy price. 9 years ago this would have been 150,000.
So not worth half a million dollars
In the year 2000 yes. Not 9 years ago
Looks like duplex container 🤔
The amount of land, house, and garage you can get for that price just an hour outside the city. I don't know why anyone would buy in the city.
