Alphonso, I really appreciate your clear explanations. You're precise and concise, which is pretty rare. You would make an excellent teacher, if you aren't one already. Knowing how to something really well is one thing. Being able to share it is another. Thanks again.
Hi, Alphonso, I write you from Barcelona Spain. I'm a drawing teacher and I like watching what other people ( teachers, artists or simply people who like drawing like me) do and diferent ways of teaching how to draw. I like your videos, you speak very clear ( wich is very important for people who don't have english as a first language, like me) and your explanations are very precise. Thanks to share your art with us.
just bumped into this channel yesterday and i've been glued since. was literally dumb in art but slowly i'm picking up. thanks a lot buddy. you just earned my subscription
That cylinder is a brilliant idea. It's awesome for warm-up and practice. It is a great way to practice the textures you want to include in the image before you get started.
Exremely effective. I feel like I've watched many texture videos and several you've made. But this one is the most informative and helped me the most by far.
you seem to be such a kind person, especially when i read your comments, you really read everything and looks like you care about every viewer :)! love the video, textures look so good, waiting for more!x
I stumbled across your videos today, and I had a renaissance ignited in my sketching. You have a great way of explaining technique that finally clicked for me.
Just an FYI: I changed my texture swatch lesson 3 years ago after watching this video this demo. I include your video in my lesson and you are credited. You received at least 60 new views this week.
Sir, your voice has the perfect tone and rhythm for me to follow. I can tell I am going to enjoy the rest of your videos. ✌ Edit: I am late to this party.
That was magical. Perfectly sensible, and when I tried it, it worked just as it should, but that's magic just the same. I want that texture stick to keep as a worry-toy on my desk at work. :) I agree with the people who think you should be teaching. You're a natural.
Not sure if you intended this but, at the beginning of your video, as you are explaining the importance of light and shadow on any given object, you keep presenting your pencil, a cylindrical object, to the center of the paper. When I pause the video, it is the perfect example of the very thing you are emphasizing. Bravo!...By the way, my portrait picture is the latest drawing I have done. lol had to throw a plug in there somewhere, Hehe.
I've been trying to decide on a hobby that I can do while sitting at home. A couple of days ago I thought, why not try to get back into drawing properly. So I got a sketch pad and had a look online for tips and stumbled upon your videos. They are fantastic! Thank you. I'm working my way through the basics playlist. I'm very proud of my textured cylinder! ha ha! Keep up the good work. :-)
You're really great and explaining this. I went ton trying to copy your cilindre (with a few liberties) and it looks way better than I thought it would. And I'm a total noob.
Thank you so very much. This is a precious precious video. Learned a lot from your texture videos. Even for a beginner, your teaching is simple to understand and follow.
These textures are totally amazing! Really good work. I'm glad I found your channel. I draw generally with pencils (well almost all the time with pencils for few years - all my 'artist' career). Now after what I see on your vids... I decided to go to shop and buy some ink pens! :D Keep it up, great work!
Nice combination of texture practice! Quite a clever way to draw different textures in a single sketch. You're full of surprises. Thanks for the vid', I'll definitely try that and give feedback!
Absolutely loving your videos man! I subbed and plan on watching every one of em. I used to draw many years ago and stopped because I grew to hate it for some reasons. I've decided to get back into it with pen and ink and these videos really inspire me!
Looking forward to starting some of your tutorials tonight when I get some free time, you're very talented and love the content you're providing. Please continue to do so. Much love & support.
Helps a lot actually, I been an artists since a child, but with no formal instruction. Everything I've created or learned has come from the heart. I'm now 28 and would like more of a formal instruction, your videos have become a big part of my life and a great inspiration. I hope that I am one day as great as your and an informative when it comes to art. Thanks again, your time into this doesn't go unnoticed!
I'm glad to see there are artists like you on YT because there was this one guy on here that I sort of asked for a tutorial from, and he basically deleted his video that I commented on. I'm not gonna mention any names but it was kind of rude. Anyway, very nice work! I subscribed.
You're welcome. I hope you won't stop making these videos, ever since I saw one of your videos, i can't get enough of them. Your videos really inspired me to get back to drawing again.
I love ya work I been following ya channel for a month now and I'm inspired. I draw but not as good probably as good to my friends but nothing compared to you. keep up the good work

it comes with focusing on the basics
Thanks for making this video. I think the cylinder with all the textures on it is a great drawing exercise and one I will have to try!
