Claudia, I'm not sure you understand how much your deep talk really just motivated me and made me feel so good. I felt like I just had a long talk with my friend, and the thing is, I don't really associate with my friends and family anymore because I'm so caught up in me me me. Which isn't a bad thing, but because I'm so busy doing me; working 2 jobs, going to school, taking extra online courses, volunteering...I'm so consumed in me that I forget about other people around me. And the time that I have to myself, I spend it on social media and I start to compare my lifestyle to others and I wish I had time with my friends and family...I wish I had time to prep food and eat healthy, go to the gym. My everyday schedule starts from 5am-11pm everyday. Something about this long talk really made me feel like I need to step back and relax. Focus on my mind and body, emotionally and physically.

you go girl! now is the time to be selfish and work on what you really want and feel passionate about. The best investment you can make is investing the time to work on yourself :) Way to be!

    • @healthyhappy749
      @healthyhappy749 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I totally get it... but I think it's also all about balance! designate as much time as you can to doing things that will only better yourself and who you want to become. While still reaching out to friends and family so they don't feel like they've gotten the cold shoulder from you AND that way you're not missing out :) I'm only 20 as well and all my friends are out clubbing and thats just not my mindset... and you shouldn't feel bad if your priorities are different than other people your age!

These last 12 months of me being out of college has changed me so much. I cried a lot, spent a lot of money, changed emotionally, physically ups and downs, but the biggest is that I don't even know what I want to do next. I hate not having a plan to really understand my capacity and commitment to the life I want to pursue. Ughhh life is weird. I'm weird. Seeing u so happy makes me want that same genuine love of life. Thank you for this, we love you !

I love when you talk about anything like this, I love listening to people talk about important meaningful topics, what their passionate about, their goals in life, literally anything because we can all learn from other people and how each of us view life and just other things in different ways, I would love if you included chatty parts into your vlogs once in a while, I think it could be really good for you and for others, you could just give your opinions and talk about what ever is on your mind, so thank you for your words

I resonated with everything you said, but the last point really hit me hard. While it's true that often the videos beauty/lifestyle vloggers post seem frivolous, I definitely think that it's helpful. Your home decor vlogs motivated me to start finally shopping for my apartment, and your makeup videos help me reach a confident level with wearing makeup and feeling good about wearing makeup, but also enjoying makeup free days. At the end of the day it's what you take from it and how you view it/ use it. Your channels are helpful in more ways than one and I hope you continue to pursue this. :)

You appear very "at peace" and it's showing in your energy and how you're communicating to everyone through these vlogs! I really love your presence on TH-cam. You touched on some really wonderful key points about the role of social media. Everything about you is so refreshing! Sending lots of love to you ❤️

I really love how passionate you are about this topic and the look in your eyes was such a beautiful thing to see, so pure. I really needed this I actually started tearing up a bit! this motivated me to make my time worthwhile and not be at home or on social media on my free time. thank you, you're an angel claudia✨🦋🌺

    Hey!
I work at a talent agency in Hollywood! For advice, we are always pushing clients to take acting classes, but something that is REALLY useful especially for someone like you would be a college course. There are many theater schools out there or even just private/community colleges that allow you to sign up for one course and it's a great way to learn but not have to commit weeks straight. Most courses are just one day a week or two days a week and trust me that is more than enough to expand your knowledge and keep up the practice. There also improv classes you can take PER session. And acting coaches are also recommended because you can use them regularly or to prep for each audition. This might also sound silly but a film history course could really help you too. I took one at Woodbury university in Burbank, CA. The guy was super cool and we literally just watched movies and then dissected everything about them- from the acting to the shot composition. Also just on TH-cam- the user name Every Frame Of Painting is my favorite channel- it breaks down movies and every single one has a new topic of theme to discuss from directing to acting. It also will make you want to watch more movies! I hope that helps you! Good Luck :)

I'm 19 years old and this year hasn't been the best. There's been a lot of hurt, pain and distractions that came along with 2017; not only for me, but for my family and those around me. My ex just recently broke up with me because of how distracted I was and how he couldn't find it in himself to make the time anymore and that put another weight of hurt on my shoulders, you know? I've been watching your vlogs and your main channel videos for years now and they honestly help a lot. It's been about three weeks of me learning how to be single again and how to replan all the things in my future that involved him. And within those three weeks I have realized so much about myself and my drive to be something that is more than what I am right now. And just to know that like youtubers or celebrities have these moments in their lives that they need to readjust and they need to make different plans and create different things is so refreshing and motivating. So thank you for being a person who motivates and inspires people to thrive in the things they want to do because one voice can change a lot. And you, Claudia, have that voice. I love you so much and thank you! ♥️

Claudia, I dont believe your videos are mindless at all. You inspire me (and millions of others) to eat healthy, take care of your body, work hard, and every one of your videos motivates me in some way! Your fashion and beauty vlogs have influenced my sense of fashion (and how I like to express myself) and have made thousands of others feel better about themselves. Your videos are not mindless at all but I understand your point of focusing your time on the important things in life which i agree with 100%.

I get what you mean. It happened to me, spending so much hours in social media and wondering where my day went at the end of the day. So I made some changes in my day to day activities so that what I do is beneficial for me (join online trainings, read my books, talk to friends, etc). I still check social media when I need a break or just relax. I really appreciate when you post videos where you talk to us and share your thoughts. I think you're really a good role model. You're motivated and inspire a lot people. I can tell how much you respect/love your craft and I really think you can go places because of your mindset and attitude.

This is honestly why I love your channel, Claudia. You really make me think about how i'm living my life. I'm only 15 years old, but I always seem to find myself falling into the hole of being lazy and being on my phone on social media for hours and just wasting my time on pointless things when I know I could be doing something better with my time and just stuff I know that would help me in the long run. I just feel that I have major procrastination problems...when I always wish that I could have a better lifestyle...Ughhh I idk idk

Omg I really needed this! I have recently deleted all my social media for the most part and have began focusing more on myself and what's really important to me. Especially just being more independent in this part of my life I think I really needed this. I would make myself upset or be emotional over things I didn't have any control over. I have always been so inspired by you! Thank you x1000 I'm so glad you're so open about this! Love you 💛

Thank you Claud! Every single one of your talks get me so motivated. I have realized that I have been spending my time on my phone, scrolling through youtube and instagram without any idea of what am I looking for. Instead of getting up in the morning and going to the gym or for a run, I would lay in my bed on my phone for hours dreaming about the perfect body... Also, I have to study because I have some exams left for the end of the August, but instead of studying I've been doing literally nothing. Your talk was a punch in my face, but in a good way. It got me to the point of realizing that I'm constantly wasting my time and that I need to become picky about what am I spending it on, just like you. Thank you to the moon and back!

to the mindless clothing video comment : none of it is really mindless - social media allows for more and more information to be absorbed ( whether good or bad ) people take it in. and some may not think that a video about makeup or clothing is stimulating - when in fact you get to see different patterns and styles of clothes that maybe you've never seen. you get to witness what youtubers enjoy. for me, i love seeing individual and unique styles - it's one of the main reasons that i follow claudia. my own personal style has def been inspired by her, and now that she's making more content about the mind - my brain gets to be inspired too 💖
luv ya : keep doin you gurl 😊✨

I think it should be known that as a 26 year old pursuing a creative career (musician) I find your videos not only refreshing after a day of hard work but also incredibly inspiring. To say your videos are similar "pointless scrolling" is definitely not accurate. I find that no matter what you post, whether it be a main video or vlog that your work ethic shines through. To see someone who is career driven, self-motivated and constantly striving to learn should NOT be discredited. Claudia, I sincerely enjoy you as a person even without knowing you personally. I think you are showing the young women who watch your channel an extremely positive and SMART life as an influencer. You have also proven yourself to be more than that and let every woman know that your dream is achievable no matter who you are as long as you educate and dedicate yourself. I hope that this message reaches you and you understand that you make up the small percentage of influencers who are actually trying to change the world through encouraging their viewers to be uniquely themselves and nourish their minds with positivity and knowledge. Continue right along your path. Your support system is huge because you support each and every one of us. Much love from Dallas ❤️

I think the problem with today's world is that the 'distractions' you talked about (instagram pictures, funny videos, entertainment of this kind) stop to be just a quick 5-minute breaks. We actually start to spend more time on the 'quick distractions' rather than on what we actually do (study, create, whatever it is). When the order is reversed, we kind of lose sense of what is the actual purpose of our actions and we get sucked in. Extremely happy you talked about it Claudia, pozdrowienia z Polski ❤️

In today's society, I'm really happy to say that I have no social media. No peer pressure that makes me want to look like something I'm not, no "ooh look what I got, jelly?", and no "look where I've been, #lifegoals". I don't feel the need to update my status and tweet every few seconds because I don't really see the reason why. And so, I'm also proud of myself when I type this: I put my hours into putting smiles on people's faces. I put my hours into helping people have a better day, let out a genuine laugh. I put my hours into living and being myself, without thinking who will see it, and what anyone would think of me. I enjoy every moment that I'm in, I take photos of the people and places I wouldn't want to lose the memory of, I don't see life through my phone screen. I feel like, it's a waste of time, spending hours and hours on phones, apps that are pointless, unnecessary hate sessions, the list goes on..
I'm just really happy to say I have been putting my hours into building a life for myself that doesn't involve any of these and I like to say that I'm doing a good job at it.
Thank you, Claudia, for taking the time to have a deep conversation with your audience, I personally, immensely enjoyed it xx

This motivated me so much, recently I am at a point in my life where I am making so many important decisions and working so hard for school therefore my free time is precious, and I admit I get drawn into the endless scrolling but this had awaken them idea that I can go and do other things and I can chose who and when I hang out with. It's made me realise I have control over my life and I am the only person who can create the person who I want to be and that no one else is going to do it for me. Thank you so much it had really helped me out of this rut I have been in.

Honestly, I can't tell you how much this sir down meant to me. It felt like you were talking to me, all of us watching, and not just to a camera. And it really made an impact to me. I've spent my whole life moving and moving and if not moving then studying and working hard to get into uni. I've barely had time for myself or to do things a normal person my age would do. I can relate to how you felt before your vlog break and it's made me realize that I need to stop for a moment. Even during summer, I've been practicing for sports next year and studying for the SAT and other things. And I can agree with other people that it's definitely made me think about having me time and "being a human again."

    @morganmcgregor8647 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I totally get where you're coming from but I also think there are the times where the mindless is useful and the times where it isn't so I think your videos (the ones that are purely entertainment, not you're thought provoking ones like this) are valuable too. Last year I had depression and severe anxiety, and while I had purpose and passion I had no energy to do anything with it and forcing myself to "go through the motions" as some might say, was emotionally exhausting and could cause worse breakdowns - this was where the mindless viewing and entertainment became useful. I couldn't do anything with my time, so TH-cam in particular was a fantastic way to give myself a break when I needed. However this year I have recovered (at least with depression mostly) and I've also started my own business so self-employment and business growth has sucked my mental energy and I'm finding myself desperately trying to shake off the emotional escaping habits I formed last year - TH-cam and food addictions in particular.
I don't really know where I'm going with this other than - different content has different value to people at different times in our lives and the key to success is to be mindful of whether our habits are beneficial at this period or not, and I'm glad you're promoting this form of mindfulness, while also refusing to make you think your "mindless" (for lack of a better word, for I never thought of you as this) content lacks value.

I agree! I used to spend a lot of time on social media and then one day my school had a phone free day and I had a realization-I spent so much time on social media and what I thought was important to know and look at but then the next day, I would only remember about 10% of it - at most. My time could've and should've been spent playing with my dog, going for a run, or watching something worth watching with information that will matter the next day. Now I'm trying to spend a lot less time on my phone and social media because it's really not that important and it's not beneficial. :) Thanks Claudia you're awesome!

Honestly this isn't the first video where you say something along the lines of TH-cam just not crossing your mind and really I think this saying is so good all good things must come to an end. Your TH-cam channel and all it is and will be and what not is amazing and I've loved every second of it, but you should explore what else is out there! You should do all you want to do without fear of having to say no due to a prior obligation. You can recognize that TH-cam got you this far and the doors it's opened up for you but I think it'd be a really fun journey to see what it's like if you pursued acting without a TH-cam channel. Or at least no main channel and you just vlog whatever cool experiences you have. This is your one life and it's only yours so don't live in the fear and thought of disappointing your viewers. If they truly love your content they'd watch you on their tv, phones or in a movie theater.

I would recommend watching Breaking Bad if you are interested in learning from amazing actors if you haven't already seen it. Truly some of the best acting I've seen. Also a tip I use for analyzing movies is to watch movie scenes with the sound off so you can analyze the physical acting and then just listen to the audio so you can dissect each piece. It really helps!

Claudia, can I just say that every time you start talking about your love for acting and everything, it gets me thinking about my dream. The dream I have had for myself for as long as I can remember, literally I remember being 2 years old and thinking to myself how I wanted that dream. The dream that idea of going for it scares me shitless and if I really start to think about it, I start to cry. You have made something in me think more about it and I've been wanting it more and more recently. And I really think its because of you. I don't know if Im going to ever pursue it, but you've definitely made me want to pursue it. Keep doing you Claudia!!

I highly recommend looking into vocal classes. They literally improve your acting skills so much and keep you grounded and prepared for any role in the future. My dad teaches in Los angles if you want to research it is farkasvoice but there are plenty of other ones because his is pretty intense and requires a lot of commitment. But I'm super excited to see how passionate you are and you are truly choosing wisely how you want to go about your career even if you are getting into the technical stuff a little later. Love you and hope you have an amazing day💛💛

i love this girl! your vlogs this year have pushed me to do better and have motivated me to really go after the things i want in a more ferocious way! i've started to work out more, read more and get back to the things that i know i love and really make time for the things i know will only make me better. and i agree with you completely about cutting out the mindless scrolling that we've all been accustomed to! i catch myself checking my instagram and snapchat just for the sake of checking them, and it's become a tick almost :( we all need to take a little break from the mindless and be more conscious and present in our own lives, and filter our intake down to things that will bring us to a place that's better than we were before :) all the love to you claudia!

Good good good stuff! There's also so many awesome podcasts like "KCRW's The Business" and "Kahnversations." Also, I LOVE watching the Actor's Roundtable discussions - so many awesome nuggets of wisdom! I know exactly how you're feeling, but just keep on keeping on like you're doing and work on your craft every chance you get! When you keep moving toward that goal, something will happen! ❤

I'm watching this a while after it was posted, but this is so relevant to the mindset I've recently inputed into my lifestyle. I read this book called "The Game" by Terry Schott. It was kind of confusing and hard to follow but a main theme in the book was to throw yourself into things that you love and that interest you. Once you master each task FIND A NEW ONE! That way you gain knowledge and creativeness, and using your short time on earth productively. It was like so mind blowing but I was like WTF have i been doing the last 16 years of my life? Why do I care about all of the shallow mindless shit society makes us believe is important? The message you're spreading about spending your time on things you love and with people you love is so great and I'm so happy you're finding that yourself and documenting it for us too. 😊❤️

i love when you talk about things you're passionate about and share things that can improve yourself. i think you should make a video with suggestions of random things like books and movies and even the five minute journal. like a favorites video but instead of talking about products you could talk about self improvement. you could keep documenting your journey on your youtube which will be nice for you to look back on and it can also help others with their personal journeys as well. i love when you talk about this stuff! can you tell? lol love you clauds

There is a difference between pretty pictures and videos that you tubers like you make! All of your videos are helpful and definitely entertaining. Saying your videos are the equivalent to mindless social media scrolls is like saying movies have no purpose. It's the entertainment industry, people watch and you do your job in a full circle. Your videos make people happy, including me, in the exact way movies make people happy. Also your TH-cam, for me, serves as my personal motivation board so it really is useful aside from entertainment. Love you so much and keep doing what you love to do cause that's the only way you should live your life!

Makeup and clothing video are not mindless. They are educating people and inspiring people everywhere on how they might like to style themselves. I gain a lot from those videos and i think it evolved a lot because social media found ways to help people save their wallets and find dupes and what not. I think it would only be mindless if thats all people did with youtube. Like she said, she balances it out.

As much as I love your more preaching videos this one felt extremely genuine. I've been in a strange mental state for a while and I'm constantly trying to get out of it because I'm ALWAYS in my own head and I always think very existentially and I think life is easier lived when it's simpler. I have passions that I force out because I get caught up with school, work, friends, family and legal issues and it's just easier to forget when I'm living my life through other people on social media. I don't really scroll through Instagram like you but I binge watch shows frequently to the point that I fall out of touch with reality. As hard as it is juggling everything trying to stay afloat by doing stuff that I love will hopefully help. Idk if that made any sense

I don't think that you creating content around clothes and makeup is being mindless or something that lacks substance. For one if it's something that you like creating then it is 100% worth making and obviously you have an audience that swallows it up and that's not a bad thing. I agree with everything you said in the video but I think that every once in a while you need a break from the intellectual exercise you put your mind through and sometimes we need to occupy ourselves with things that maybe won't contribute to us being academically knowledgeable but will feed our soul.
And I really appreciate you making these talks because you are such an inspiration to me because you're always so motivated and determined and it seems like you go after the things you want no matter what obstacles are in your way and it's making me want to get my butt out of bed and start working towards my goals. I wish so bad I knew someone like you in my life. I loved this vlog, I love your vlogs. I love them because you get to see you and it's a platform where you share your thoughts like the ones in todays vlog which are so so important. Thank you for making these! I wish I could just sit down with you and chat in person I feel like we'd have so much to talk about haha. I've recently been trying out similar things like using my time better, educating myself through maybe watching documentaries on topics I find interesting like the ocean and conservation (chasing coral on Netflix is amazing btw you might like it). I've also taken up a hobby in running... but like properly running, marathon running and maybe not life changing to others it's helping me so much with anxiety and my mental health because I'm fuelling my bad into good. Using all the energy anxiety takes in my body and channeling it into my legs to run. It's so fun to get sucked into techniques on how to be faster and stronger and train better and to have goals and sign up for races. I'm loving the energy you are putting out in the world right now, you're on such a great track in life and I look up to you so much. Lots of love Natalie x
