      Did it help your friends skin condition?
      If so, how did they apply / use the propolis?
      I have a friend who has had a terrible skin condition for 2 years now & nothing has helped.

    Think I will give this a go. It will be interesting to see the different types of propolis from different apiary locations. Did the rest of that hive have noticeably less propolis sticking up the rest of the frames & boxes?

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. This hive has always been a propolis monster. They cover everything in it!
      Good idea for different locations. Will be interesting to see :)

    Hello Laurence. Great content & great presentation! So the screen you are using is plastic? Similar to window screen? I could not make out the size of the holes.....thanks

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Alexey. Yes - its a plain plastic mesh. the squares are circa 2mm x 2mm

    I've just got one from Maisemore and it included 4 strips of wooden spacers, these are supposed to introduce a draft into the hive which encourages the bees to want to stop up the holes where they can feel it coming through. Have you tried that at all?

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Will last forever it seems. Only stays in for a couple of weeks. Depends more on the colony. Some are great at collecting, others not so much

    On October 5, 2024, Ukrainian beekeepers were introduced to a new propolis extraction technology. Equipment has been developed in Ukraine to clean elastic nets from propolis. The mechanization of the propolis extraction process enhances its economic efficiency. Additionally, we have ensured proper hygienic production conditions.

    Is this something you can harvest constantly w/o harming them or do you need to leave them have some of it too like with pollen traps?
    Thanks
