Ordered mine last week, need a load of propolis for a mentee who's daughter has a severe skin condition, this video has come out at the right time, thanks Lawrence
Did it help your friends skin condition? If so, how did they apply / use the propolis? I have a friend who has had a terrible skin condition for 2 years now & nothing has helped.
Think I will give this a go. It will be interesting to see the different types of propolis from different apiary locations. Did the rest of that hive have noticeably less propolis sticking up the rest of the frames & boxes?
Hello Laurence. Great content & great presentation! So the screen you are using is plastic? Similar to window screen? I could not make out the size of the holes.....thanks
I've just got one from Maisemore and it included 4 strips of wooden spacers, these are supposed to introduce a draft into the hive which encourages the bees to want to stop up the holes where they can feel it coming through. Have you tried that at all?
And... did you put it on scale? How many grams form one hive? I enjoy every of your video... Hope to see more interesting things this season 2022... TNX
On October 5, 2024, Ukrainian beekeepers were introduced to a new propolis extraction technology. Equipment has been developed in Ukraine to clean elastic nets from propolis. The mechanization of the propolis extraction process enhances its economic efficiency. Additionally, we have ensured proper hygienic production conditions. th-cam.com/video/Jx_82rhxdXM/w-d-xo.html

Thanks Laurence, never seen that done before! Must give it a try.
Definitely worth a try. Makes lovely propolis. So clean!
Really interesting, thanks Laurence.
Cheers Simon 😀
Thanks!
Really interesting that Laurence thanks, I've only ever harvested from frames
For £3 it makes the purest propolis perfectly possible.
@@BlackMountainHoney Great idea!
That was really interesting, thoroughly enjoyed that video, haven't seen anything like that before!!
Thanks Melanie. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Another great video 👌🏻
Great video man thanks as always for sharing :D
Thanks BHB! :D
Thats so cool!!
Thanks 😊

No. This hive has always been a propolis monster. They cover everything in it!
Good idea for different locations. Will be interesting to see :)
Really interesting
It's cool isnt it. I am going to trap a fair bit this year :D
That’s very interesting. It looks like they were busy. What do you do with the propolis? I’m sure it’s amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, I am a beekeeper, where can I sell this propolis wholesale and how much?
Hello Laurence. Great content & great presentation! So the screen you are using is plastic? Similar to window screen? I could not make out the size of the holes.....thanks
Thanks Alexey. Yes - its a plain plastic mesh. the squares are circa 2mm x 2mm
How long one can store the propolis?
I'd say indefinitely
سؤال رائع شكرا
Interesting video, thanks Lawrence can I ask what you do with the propolis once harvested?
Put it in a jar and left it in a cupboard! :)
Going to make some tincture ;)

How much did you get from one screen?
Thanku for a grrat video. What is the material of this trap ?
Thanks for the video. For how long do you keep the trap? Does it vary according to the season or always the same?
Will last forever it seems. Only stays in for a couple of weeks. Depends more on the colony. Some are great at collecting, others not so much
And... did you put it on scale? How many grams form one hive?
I enjoy every of your video... Hope to see more interesting things this season 2022...

I didnt weigh it but it was a decent amount :D
@@BlackMountainHoney TNX for reply... I do the same job on YT, but on bosnian language...
Where did you purchase the propolis screens ?
Wonder how i can do this in top bar hives.
what about using galvanised steel mesh for a propolis trap?
I was thinking some type of fairly strong fly screen mesh? Or does it need to be much stronger?
@@turnitupmike I've moved on from that comment, the off the shelf propolis traps work really well, the ones from Temu of all places

Is this something you can harvest constantly w/o harming them or do you need to leave them have some of it too like with pollen traps?
Thanks
Aaron
Your propolis trap looks like it is fiberglass window screen material.
It does look similar
what if i don't have a freezer
Dear sir!
I have some raw propolish
How to eat this ?
I thought most gets dissolved into grain alcohol as tincture but maybe other options
