I'm so fascinated to learn how people grow in the colder zones. When do you normally get your first frost?

So sad to watch! But I get it. I started a lot of dwarf varieties this year, I like how I was able to start them in January and grow them larger and get produce much earlier.

I never grew dwarf ones but that's really a great option! Hoping I can grow some next year!

Oh nooooo....I wonder if you just gently flicked each flower (they self-pollinate) if you would have gotten much more fruit. I never thought about pinching off the flowers (and my tomatoes did not do so well last year), I just tapped on each flower that was open in order to help it polinate, and then more tomatoes grew from there. I'm in zone 8A, and I think the heat may have been too much for them last year, but I was still able to enjoy some. I, also, think I'm going to grow determinate tomatoes this year, instead of indeterminate ones.

awe you have a longer growing season for me, but maybe it got too hot sometimes , here we have very short growing season, I have to chop the flowers off so the little tomatoes will grow more for me, the first I did not trim the flowers off, when the snow came I was so sad to the little tomatoes go to waste for there's nothing I can do for them.
