  • And it came to pass that the future ran like a freight train into the past and nobody remembered until they promised to forget.
To the wicked ones, look down, nothing but sky.
    The sun shall scorch you.

If I said I've felt 'possessed', since childhood, and these string symphonies make my heart remember times I couldn't have possibly seen (could I have?)as if I watched it played the first time, before my very eyes, I would sound crazy.
Hypnotized for eternity, in a grand ballroom a millennia old.

That's the thing about this music. It sticks in your head. I'll find myself humming these melodies without even being conscious of it. That's a sign of a great composer!

@@orion3874 The possession I've felt, since childhood. This aspect also ties to the manner in which I was raised, and the relevance of the older composers'...'stations'. See, music, like Words, are a form of spellcraft, and I'd say ALL composers are aware of this. I am an Author, myself.

@@marcusmiller5443 That's what we're here for, isn't it? To figure out what we're here for. And some do it through words, painting, composing, listening.. mental stimulus, creative acts.. I keep coming back to the central question.. when you put your hand to paper, or the composer dreams up a melody, WHERE exactly does it come from? It's neither random, nor a derivative of what preceded it. I feel like, if we could just answer this question, it would lead to much deeper understanding of one's purpose.

      @@orion3874 a moment of honesty:
At 9 years old, during one of the most heinous beatings I'd received in memory, I was sobbing uncontrollably, standing next to my bed, unable to lay down, for the welts that has already formed, from the back of my knees, to the back of my neck. I couldn't even rest, to heal my wounds. I wailed to 'God', begging Him to kill me, and take me away from this demon that adopted me, and promised Him everything.
My knees buckled, and I threw up, as I was sobbing, now, which felt as if it almost killed me, as I couldn't breathe.
My adoptive dad came back in, picked me up by my hair, at the back of my head, and threw me onto my bed, knowing how much pain I was in. He jumped on top of me, and quickly drew his Olde Timer pocket knife out, holding the blade to my throat.
He asked me, "You sniveling little fuqer! You want a reason to cry?! You wanna die, you little bastard?!"
At that moment, another 'entity' (alter/spirit/I dunno) surfaced, and I immediately stopped crying, replying simply, while staring into his eyes, "Yes."
I visibly seen this 'pale shadow' (i know...crazy) 'wash' over him.
      The story of my possession.

    1) teaming with life 2) desolate and barren ... i have always wondered why you choose (typically) to put 2 parts to each upload rather than each as its own piece.
the second part was actually quite cool... a few different 'feels' there... something extremely 'familiar'.. while other parts were extremely 'strange' to me... overall... nice... interesting.. intriguing. 👍

I've spoken to Thomas numerous times about how he approaches composing. He hears it in his head continuously. Remember that part in "Amadeus" where Salieri looks at Mozart's scores and remarks "it's as if he was simply taking dictation from God"?
Thomas wrote more music in June alone than Beethoven wrote in his final 3 years.
Before his departure, he sent me MIDI's, WAVs and lots of orchestral and arranging notes.
      Amazingly creative!

If I could arrange quicker, I'm sure we'd release even more collections of Thomas's compositions as single works. There is often a common motif in things Thomas composed together. It may be a rhythmic motif he's playing with, a different treatment of the melody, a bass line that underpins the harmony. He creates a mood in the first few bars. Some resemble "theme and variations" or "song with verses" but these structures are far too rigid to describe Thomas's endlessly-flowing compositional style. Thus, different things can be put together in a variety of ways and there is no one right way or desired final outcome. Our arranging is a give and take; both add musical elements to the polished virtuoso piano tracks that Thomas begins the composition with. I hope that helps explain why we often release several tracks together as a single work.

@@MarciaStockton i can most certainly relate with Music playing constantly in ones head... i dont think it ever truly stops in mine... and i can totally understand how music can be like Tetris Blocks... some things just fit.. and there is no one way to assemble them as a whole... i just wonder if its always the case that the pieces are 'seen' or meant to be 'seen' as one?
i am sure people have their 'ways' they do things... how they arrive at points of interest... how they can craft something from seemingly nothing... how they can build the most incredible and complex structures from so many simple pieces.... because i know 'art' can take many forms.
i mostly ask Thomas things like this if only to understand myself a bit more... i know that may sound crazy but hey... its truth.
as i had told Thomas... i should probably just get to know people that have as much absolute passion for music as we do.... so i do not fear someone might not understand so much... because many of them are just the same.
think of it like this... Scenario 1 ... there is absolutely no Music ANYWHERE in the world... no Music of any kind whatsoever... no form no resemblance.. nothing. ... what would the world be like for people that have an ultimate love and desire for Music?
Scenario 2... Music is EVERYWHERE... every street corner... every Coffee Shop... every Grocery Store... EVERYWHERE.... now... what is the world like for someone with such passion for Music they just cant live without it?
this is Our World... this is what we Dream of.. our Desires.. our Passions... this is what makes us who we are... this is who we are... and what we will always be.
may Music roam freely forever in the minds of Musicians everywhere.
