Spectacular match ruined literally at the last second by a terrible offside protocol decision. Regardless of whether Mueller was marginally onsides or offsides, the whole point of the VAR assisted protocol is to let situations like that play out and retroactively determine if there was an offsides or not. That leaves such a bad cloud over an otherwise wonderful match to watch. Terrible referring in that moment. Absolutely terrible.

So the linesmen do not flag clearly offside situations but when there is a legitimate onside, they flag offside, and then do not correct it with the VAR.
