    As a teen I met him in London and asked him to sign a photo I had! He looked at the photo and was wondering when and where is was taken! he spent couple of minutes talking and was very nice to me!

    I believe, in my opinion, Brando exercised what we are now calling "mindfulness". He was fully present and always seemed engaged, with interviewers, fans, directors, fellow actors. I don't think there's anyone like him in film today. The camera didn't exist for him, he was just so natural on film.

    Brandos performance in last tango in paris as paul is the apex of modern acting. his performance reduced me to tears. He somehow infused his tragic private life into the character of paul. People talk about de niro and pacino but nobody can touch brando .

      Brando’s monologue talking to his dead wife in Last Tango was the most brilliant monologue he ever performed!

      baler johnson Love Robert Duvall. He once played a sea monster man on an underwater tv series (forgot the title). The dorky costume he wore was probably the worst costume to be worn by any actor in the history of tv. Years later I saw the episode again and thought "omg, how could they do that to Robert Duvall"?!🙊

    I remember my brother waiting for me to come home from work to tell me he had passed. He didn't think i could handle it because he knew was my favorite actor. I remember that it hurt when I he told me.
    I never knew him personally, he wasn't my friend or my lover, (I wish), I only saw his movies and read about him.
    I remember also thanking God, that my brother did wait till I got home to tell me because it did hurt and I didn't know why.

    It's 11 years after his death and I am just beginning to really appreciate his Genius and sincerity as an actor and an activist. What a great man Marlon Brando is....Marlon Brando was one of the greatest actors and activists we have seen since the 60's and we need him more than ever now. Mr. Brando was a real human being who had compassion for all people and helped the Native Americans. He boycotted the 1973 Oscars and allowed Sacheen Littlefeather to speak on his behalf while exposing the bad treatment of American Indians in the Movie Industry.Marlon Brando was much more intelligent than his scripts allowed him and was pure Genius. What an interesting life he had and history he left us. Research Marlon Brando. God Bless him! See other interviews by Larry King as well. (Movies: Mutiny of the Bounty, Sayonara, Missouri Breaks, Godfather, etc.. are just a few of his greats)

    He was a man at war with the world & with hollywood phony-ness. Brando was looking to live the authentic, ... and live to the fullest. I'm sure his greatest disappointment was in the tragedies of his family and certain relationships. I think he was among those who "gave up" understanding "the Why" of Life.

    Brando was a great actor because he was crazy.

    • @jobhd1199
      @jobhd1199 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No, that's a partial answer. He was a great actor, because he dabbled in dancing, music, the arts and associated himself with all types and paid attention. Listened and picked up traits and used them and had great teachers to guide him too. But most of all, he had some hunger inside for this that fed that passion. I have listed to almost every interview with other actors about him and you never hear them say his acting talent came from him being crazy, though some say he was crazy too. They all say, he was fully present and in the moment and intensely focused. The latter you will hear over and over again from the other actors. To me he is more than an actor though, the guy just never found his footing in anything else.

    Agreed. Brando was a born nonconformist and rebel. He was misunderstood based on many comments I read. Richard Burton once wrote in his diary, "Brando is a genuinely good man... and he is intelligent. He had depth. It's no accident that he is such a compelling actor. He puts on acts of course and pretends to be vaguer than he is. Very little misses him as I've noticed."
